This is part 1 of the headcanons for the poly relationship between Michael/Madison/(female) reader that I’ve thought up. These all take place prior to the apocalypse. Part 2 will take place after the apocalypse, and will likely be split into sections and genres like these were. I know these kind of read more like a fic outline rather than HCs, but I do already have a fic in the works for them, so I think it’s why they’re so fleshed out.
Gen./backstory:
Reader is a witch
Reader is a particularly strong healer; also displays a talent for concilium, telekinesis and reversal spells; can complete roughly 4 out of the 7 wonders, though she shows no interest in ever attempting them
She and Madison have been together for a significant amount of time (at least six months to a year) before they choose to involve Michael in their relationship
They visit him on their own terms the night after the massacre at Robichaux, which they had only been lucky enough to survive because they had been out taking an overwhelmed and home sick young witch on a walk to clear her head
They are angry and hurt by the action he’d taken against their sisters, but they feel they have been betrayed by Cordelia, who had simply left her girls to die while she’d escaped with Mallory and Myrtle (NOTE: basing this strictly off of what we see in the series!)
They agree to join his fight, so long as he never harms another innocent witch; Michael agrees, thrilled to have their power on his side, working on what he considers to be a worthy cause
He finds it endearing the way they sleep curled together on Mead’s couch
After his first meeting at the cooperative, he fills them in on everything he can; what he knows about his destiny as the antichrist, the cooperative, the plan for the apocalypse
They agree to go back to Cordelia and pass whatever information they can about her plans to Michael
He watches them during the course of their entire day spent together, fascinated by all of the little touches they bestow on each other
Relationship backstory:
Madison and the reader are an extremely affectionate couple
Part of this stems from the amount of time they’d been separated while Madison was in hell (they had been best friends prior to being a couple and Madison going to hell had taken its tole on both of them) and part of it stems simply from the two of them savoring their relationship in the face of so much loss
Michael and Madison are drawn together first
Reader goes to Michael’s room one night to thank him for all that he’s done for Madison and is surprised to find that Madison is already there, sitting with her face inches away from Michael’s
Michael and Madison are drawn to the goodness within the reader; the purity of her heart
She revels equally in Michael’s darkness and Madison’s gray nature (it isn’t that she doesn’t have darkness of her own, she is just more light than the other two)
The three of them bring out the best in each other; they are each other’s balancing forces
Michael and Madison each take one of the reader’s hands when they explain their feelings to her; Madison stresses that she loves the reader more than her own life and always will and that nothing will happen with Michael unless the reader is with them
Neither one of them want to be with the other unless they can have the reader as well
Michael confesses he has been drawn to them and enticed by their relationship since the moment they met
Reader never gives them a direct answer; she simply draws them to her and kisses each one of them
Romance:
Reader always sleeps between Michael and Madison
The three of them rent a small apartment in LA, close enough to Ms. Mead’s house that Michael doesn’t forget his past all together, but far enough away to signal a fresh start
Reader likes to sit on Madison’s lap and stretch out across Michael’s while they talk together; Madison and Michael are holding hands while she does this
There is no jealously involved in the relationship; neither reader or Madison feels that their relationship has lost anything, but that it’s gained something; Michael loves how much the girls love each other
They spend as much time in LA as the Coven allows; Madison pretends to be working in Hollywood whenever they go to see Michael
Madison is the one who convinces him to grow his hair out; she loves tugging on it and playing with it
Michael and reader both have trouble sleeping and often stay up late in the night talking together; Madison is out the moment that her head hits the pillow
Reader is constantly stealing clothes or accessories from both of them; she loves to wear something that reminds her of her lovers, and they love to see her in things that belong to them
Madison is unbelievably soft when it comes to both Michael and reader, although if they were ever to call her out on it, she’d put a knife to their throats
Michael and Madison both draw strength from the reader and go to her for support when they need it
Reader gets stuck in Louisiana once while Madison goes out to LA; she and Michael, though happy to be with each other, are both hopelessly lost without her
Michael talks to them often about his plans for the future of the world after the apocalypse; he wants and needs them by his side
He calls them his Queens; Madison pretends to hate it but secretly, she loves it
Madison and reader wear matching rings on their ring fingers; the stone in the middle is a black diamond, and it is flanked by two rubies; they are meant to symbolize Michael and the girls
Surprisingly, they are an affectionate trio who loves pet-names; Madison calls both of them babe more than she calls them by their names; Michael is all about things like “darling” and “love” and he calls them “his girls”; reader is most drawn to using “darling”, but she has also been known to pull ridiculous things like “bunny rabbit” out of her hat, just to make them laugh.
NSFW:
Michael remains the only man the reader has ever slept with; during their first time together, Madison had sat behind her and stroked her hair and talked her through it
Even if one of the three of them isn’t participating in sex with the others, they like to stay in the room; they’re not necessarily there to watch, but to revel in the intimacy
Madison and reader keep up their own relationship when they are in Louisiana, though they frequently call Michael or involve him in their dirty talk if they are unable to get in touch with him (“Michael would be so proud of you”, etc.); he’s never far away from their thoughts
Michael loves to watch Madison get the reader off, and vice versa
Madison once walked in to find Michael fucking the reader up against the wall, and since then, she is constantly trying to put them in positions where it could happen again
Reader enjoys Madison handcuffing Michael to the bed and the two of them taking turns riding him
Madison made a sex playlist for them, because of course she did
Reader disappeared during dinner once, only to come back downstairs in nothing but one of Michael’s black dress shirts and a pair of Madison’s thigh high stockings; Michael had fucked her right on the table while she’d eaten Madison out; the remains reader’s favorite memory throughout the course of their entire relationship
Michael confesses he loves them after their first time together; reader is tucked against his chest and Madison is cuddled up behind her; as he watches them, he’s filled with so much adoration that he can’t hold it in
Double penetration is a favorite all around
Madison is the kinkiest one; she introduces both reader and Michael to what she likes (reader: “why did you never do this with me?” madison: “well it didn’t seem right then” reader: “and now?” madison: “babe… we’re fucking the antichrist….”)
Bondage becomes a must
Any time their sex involves something kinky, Michael is always the most insistent one about aftercare; despite the darkness inside him, he wants to do everything he can to protect his girls
