Comfort In Crying

bnha-its-a-bop:

Warnings: Blood, Injuries, crying, cursing.

Word Count: 3,382

Relationship: Dabi x Reader

Author’s Note: This story is based off the theory that Dabi is apart of the Todoroki family.

There is a softening sickness to his voice. It’s too gruff, too sore, too sad, too tired, too terrible to be his. His feet shift against the floor in the way you know he hates and that should really be the first warning sign but it isn’t. You hear his stifled whines and groans, you already know.

You’ve never seen Dabi cry before. It’s always smirks and quirks of eyebrows which is all he really is. It’s always him. But now it’s not and it really shouldn’t hurt you as much as it does but you know him better than you know yourself. You really should just leave, close up and run away but there is a deep seeded sadness in his weeps as you hear his voice crack.

He probably doesn’t even know your awake. He is walking between the corridors of the base but he is there all the same. It’s not your problem. It was never your problem and while he trusts you more than he cares to admit he would never show you his tears. His weak side is his and your villains for christ sake. You are supposed to be cruel and terrible and devilish but hearing him cry brings back the feelings you had left behind. It’s not your problem.

Ciel Phantomhive X Reader | Surreal Experience (2/?)

another part of this! a little more filler-ish, but i think i can allow myself that. sorry it took so long! i kind of got into boku no hero academia too much…

thank you @naniky for requesting to make this a series! it’s really fun!^^

lastly, @roseangel013bf asked me to tag them, so here you go! -cherry

word count: 2031 words.

It was a little later in the day and school was over, so you walked towards the bus stop to get taken home. Your friends didn’t take the bus and the one that did, was taken home by her mum today. So you got on the bus alone.

Sitting by the window, you tried to daydream again. But you had to be careful not to miss your stop, which was about 20 minutes away. Oddly enough, you couldn’t force yourself back into Black Butler in your thoughts again, like you always did. Did it have to do with the fact that the last daydream felt so real?

Arriving at home, you notice no one was there. Not your mum, or dad (or sibling if you have one).

“Guys?”, you yell out, receiving no answer. You figured they were out together, so you shrugged it off and went to your room.

Your homework for today, was to write an essay on the nobles of the 19th century in England. As that was an easy task for you, you decided to start on it right away. You also had the Black Butler soundtrack playing on your phone. The thumbnail of the current video was Ciel, which made you blush a little. You moved your finger slowly over your lips, before shaking your head vigorously.

“Like hell that happened!”, you slap both your cheeks at once, before eagerly grabbing the notebook and wanting to start writing right away.

As you tried to find a blank page in your book, you noticed the page from today’s English lesson, where you had that weird daydream.

“Notes for ‘A Day In The Life Of An English Noble’:

•movie plays in 19th century

•main character is called:

•based on true facts

•”

The rest of the page was left blank, but after the last bullet point you found a demonstar that you must’ve scribbled out of the extreme boredom. It didn’t look similar to Alois’ or Ciel’s. It looked more like a plain version of either of them.

Smiling to yourself, you turned the page and started writing your essay. That faint smile soon faded, though, as you had no idea what to write specifically. Sure, you knew the basics. But you had to write it thoroughly.

…noble families lived in huge manors and had lots of servants to…

“How do I articulate myself to sound smarter?”, you frown as you grabbed your phone with your empty hand and looked into Ciel’s contracted eye, si deus me relinquit playing in the background.

“Can’t you give me an interview?”, you ask the picture of the anime character whom you truly loved with all your heart.

Your little writer’s block made your dominant hand with the pen scribble freely over your paper once more. Firstly a circle, then some lines in there and there it was again. A demonstar. Looking at it made your eyes close the slightest bit, as you instantly felt sleepy. With your only partially opened eyes, you saw your desk approach your face as it fell onto the wooden furniture with a loud noise.

“(y/n)! You blacked out there for a second.”, your favourite voice spoke slightly shaken up. “I am sorry I kissed you without warning. I swear to never do it again without your consent.”, Ciel helped you back to your feet as you were lying in his arms.

“I am back? But how? So the kiss was real?”, you mumble to yourself when you got the idea to pinch yourself. The pain you felt made you confused as to rather feel glad or scared.

“Are you alright? You are acting rather strangely this afternoon.”, the navette ran his gloved finger over the place you just pinched yourself at, ever so softly. “Shall I get Sebastian to bring you to your room? After such an eventful day, why not take a small nap.”

“My room?”, you question with widened eyes.

“Yes.”, he let out an uneasy chuckle. “Are your memories still all over the place, darling?”

“Darling…?”, heat rose up to your cheeks. Who would have thought the emotionless earl would say such a thing.

“Y-you used to love that nickname.”, he whispered as he took it upon himself to escort you to your room.

Entering said room, you noticed the accentuation of the colour (f/c) every now and then. For example the bed was mainly white, but had (f/c) pillows. Or the closet was a dark wood colour with (f/c) flowers painted in what might’ve been acrylic paint.

“Please do lie down for an hour or so, (y/n).”, your fiancé looked towards the bed as you jumped onto it and pulled the covers over your body. “I’ll wake you up as soon as lunch is prepared.”

You stiffle your laughter as that was what your friend had said to you earlier that day,

“Ew, the school cuisine is very much displeasing.”

Thankfully Ciel couldn’t hear what you said. Otherwise you wouldn’t know how to explain it to him.

You heard his footsteps grow distant and took that as an opportunity to change out of the dress you were wearing. It was still the blue one you got from Alois Trancy.

Scanning the room with your eyes, you noticed the dark wooden closet with (f/c) flowers couldn’t possibly be empty if you really did live in that room. You sighed happily when you opened the closet to all sorts of dresses. Though you thought that something was definitely weird there. You recognized some of the dresses. But not because you had worn them. It was because some dresses looked exactly like the ones of Elizabeth.

“Mental note: ask Ciel about Lizzy.”

You go through the dresses until you decide on a special one. It was once again blue and it looked like the one Elizabeth was wearing in the Book Of Atlantic. It was just a little more frilly and, in your opinion, prettier than that one.

After you had successfully switched your dress, you pulled the blue ribbon out of your messy hair. Just then footsteps could be heard in front of your door,

“Excuse me, my lady. Sebastian ordered me to bring you some water, yes he did.”

The door opened to a familiar face. It was the clumsy maid, Mey-Rin. When she saw that your hair was down, she offered to brush and style it. At first you declined as you were perfectly able to do it yourself. Though the maid insisted on doing her job, so you reluctantly let her. She ended up tying up your hair in a bun, making sure to let some strands of your hair fall down next to your face.

“Thank you! I appreciate it.”, you turn to look at the maid as she blushed in response,

“It was o-only my job, m’lady.”

“Is Ciel in his study again?”, your hand tried to reach for the door handle, but Mey-Rin swiftly opened the door for you,

“As I walked here, I heard him and Sebastian arguing about something in there, yes I did!”

You thanked her once more before making your way to Ciel’s study. The door was slightly opened, allowing you to peek inside. Apart from seeing what Ciel and Sebastian were doing, you could of course overhear their conversation,

“…agree that we should not tell her. On another topic, the tea is rather tasteless today. Make me a new cup, Sebastian.”

“Right away, young master.”, the demon took the cup from the earl and exchanged it for a plate with a new one on it. Said earl took a letter from his desk and started reading over it, with his head propped up on his right hand.

You were so focused on observing the facial expressions of the Phantomhive reading the letter, that you jumped back from the door as Sebastian came through it and quietly spoke,

“Don’t think I didn’t notice you earlier, I just wasn’t told to get rid of you.”

You watched closely as the demonic butler’s eyes became red, as if piercing through your soul. It made you wonder if you were supposed to know that he was a demon, as you were playing the role of Lady (y/n) instead of your otaku you. All of the sudden he stopped, gave you a closed eyed smile and left. You wouldn’t know, but he sensed that something was off with you. He just didn’t have the authority to do anything to you, as you were the young master’s.

Standing up from the floor, you brushed off your dress and knocked on Ciel’s opened door, as you entered. He hadn’t even noticed the incident with Sebastian just then. He was way too into reading that letter, which you, from your knowledge of this anime, thought must’ve been from the queen herself.

“Ah, I can see you have changed out of that brat’s dress.”, he gave you a half-hearted smile, trying to hide the worry or anger he felt from that letter.

“Yes, I have. And I would like to ask you something about this particular dress.”, you carefully speak, shifting a little uncomfortably in front of him,

“Is this Lizzy’s dress?”

Ciel furrowed his brows and thought for a while of what to say, before calmly speaking,

“I do not know who this Lizzy is, you just mentioned. Though I do know, that that dress is a prettier version of the one you wore that one time in April on that ship. I remember the dire situation we were in; we had to flee from the water rising, coming to kill us. The ship was sinking, your dress was going to hinder you from escaping so I asked you to take it off, but you were being stubborn, so I acted a little roughly, before telling you I’d let Nina make you a way prettier one. And that is what your dress is.”, he thoroughly explained.

“O-oh. I totally remember now.”, you laughed, having too many thoughts running around in your mind,

“So what is that letter about, if I may ask?”, you proceeded to change the subject.

“A letter from the queen.”, Ciel sighed and went on,

“Apprently a noble family, who also works as guard dogs for her, was captured as they were on a mission by your majesty.”, he briefly shrugged off.

“Who was that family? Someone we know? Did the queen give us a picture as alwa–”, you were interrupted by Ciel,

“Quiet! It is none of your business.”, he stood up and smashed his hands on his desk, before sitting back down and apologizing,

“Sorry.”

“It’s fine…”, you trail off, a little stung by the fact that he would raise his voice at you. Unsure of what to do in this awkward situation, you wanted to turn around and leave for the dining hall, as lunch was most likely already prepared by now. You knew that Ciel wouldn’t tell you whatever he was hiding, so you gave up on asking quickly.

You were about to leave, so you turned around to open the door, stopping when you heard footsteps jogging over to you behind you,

“I’m really sorry. Knowing too much could hurt you and I would rather have you be happy.”, your fiancé explained, his hand running tenderly down your arm until he reached your hand and turned you back to face him. Not letting go of your hand, but instead now holding both your hands, he looked at you before bashfully looking away,

“Ugh…”, he breathed and altered between looking at your eyes and your lips. Both of you were more red than you were when you had your first kiss.

“If you d-don’t push me away, I’ll kiss you, ok?”, he slowly whispered.

You were so shocked that you didn’t do anything, but blink. Honestly, you didn’t even realize you were breathing as the character leaned in. Out of instinct you closed your eyes as his lips softly moved against yours. You both were breathing somewhat heavily as you parted. That was when it hit you.

Last time you kissed, the movie in your real life had ended and your friend woke you up. This time you stayed with Ciel in London in 1889.

You didn’t wake up.

Panic overcame you. How would you be able to go back to your family now? Someone in real life had to wake you, but your family wasn’t home. You just had to wait for them to come back, right? Or might there be another way to get out of this?

Ciel Phantomhive X Reader | Surreal Experience (3/?)

this seems really weird and rushed and just bad to me, that is why i didn’t want to upload it, but i’ll make it up with better chapters in the future!

anyway, i promised to get this out, so here it is.

word count: 1805 words.

It was not too long after the kiss that Sebastian returned with a fresh pot of tea and an uneasy smirk plastered on his face. As if having done this as a routine multiple times before, Ciel walked back to his chair and sat, while Sebastian poured the tea. You kept standing near the door, watching this scene play out.

“Sebastian, I have an order for you.”, the young Phantomhive spoke with closed eyes. The butler bowed in response and said his typical lines of,

“Yes, my lord.”

“I need you to get a carriage ready. We’re going to London to save that family. They are most likely being held captive at the place your majesty told me their mission was. So we are going there.”, Ciel explained and stood up.

“Right away, young master.”, Sebastian looked like he had something to say, but he couldn’t talk back to his master, so he remained quiet and left.

“Shall I escort you to the dinning hall, before I leave, my lady?”, the navette held out his arm for you to take, but you took his hand instead.

“Ciel, I’m coming with you.”, you eagerly exclaimed as you started dragging him outside with you.

“No, what are you even supposed to do?”

“You won’t do anything either! You let Sebastian do everything! You could just order him to save the family and let him go alone!”, you honestly spoke, catching the earl off guard.

“Ugh, how annoying.”, he whispered bashfully to himself as you reached the door of the manor,

“Fine.”, with Ciel’s last word, the door was opened from the outside, by none other than the demon butler himself. We followed him to the carriage and he helped both of us get in.

On the way to London neither of you two seemed to be wanting to speak. Your fiancé must’ve been upset with you, as he stared out the window, watching the scenery pass by. You, yourself were extremely confused of the situation you were in. After all you didn’t know anything; for example why were you at the Phantomhive manor? Where was Elizabeth? But most importantly, how would you get out of this daydream? Was it even one?

You let out a groan, getting the attention of the boy sitting in front of you,

“What’s the matter?”

“How mad are you at me?”, you decided to just simply ask him about everything.

“I am a little annoyed, but it’s just because I’m worried for your safety. You can’t say that I’m mad.”, Ciel shook his head and gave the slightest bit of a smile.

“I’m glad, but…”, you tried to come up with a way to discretely ask Ciel about Elizabeth again. When you mentioned her last time, he didn’t know anything about her. It was as if she didn’t exist at all. But if she didn’t exist, that would mean someone had to take her role in the life of the Phantomhives. Given the situation you are in, being the fiancée of Ciel and all, would mean that indeed you were Elizabeth,

“…Ciel, what am I to you?”

“You are my fiancée, of course. And you are also my cousin.”, he shrugged off.

Your eyes widened and you could feel your body trembling. You didn’t know why you reacted this way. After all, this was just a state your body was put in and your brain just did the stereotypical Ciel x reader thing, where Lizzy doesn’t exist. It was common sense, right? You weren’t actually there after all.

“Are you alright?”, Ciel kneeled in front of you, with his hands on your knees as he looked up at your shocked expression,

“That Trancy boy must’ve played with your memories quite a lot for you to react this way to a simple statement.”

“Ciel, you must tell me; is this re–”, you were cut off as the carriage stopped rapidly, which caused you to fall off your seat and land on Ciel’s lap. You both looked at each other’s faces blankly, before you started to laugh,

“This is too cliché for this kind of anime, man.”, you gasped for air, making sure that Ciel couldn’t understand what you were saying. Then Sebastian opened the door to the carriage and looked at you two with a smirk plastered across his face. He turned to the side with a hand in front of his mouth, as he held back his laughter. You knew from a few scenes in the anime how much joy the demon found in the young master’s misfortunes, if you could call it that. So you decided to tease him a bit more, for Sebastian’s sake.

“Ha~ I’m so sorry!”, you exaggerated your embarrassment with your hands covering your mouth and your eyes watering a little,

“If your thighs hurt, I can kiss them to make you feel better!”, you clasped your hands together, knowing exactly what you were doing, but still acting oblivious. In the background, Sebastian’s urge to laugh was reaching its breaking point, but he couldn’t possibly laugh at his master.

“N-no, I think I’m g-good.”, Ciel looked to the right bashfully. You didn’t want to admit it, but you could feel this talk did something to him.

“My lady, let us get serious now. We have a family to save.”, the butler said formally. Your mind snapped back to reality, or however much reality this was, and you stood up and jumped out of the carriage,

“Have no fear, for I am here!”, you yelled loudly until you realized where you were,

“Why are we at your London residence, Ciel?”

“Well, we cannot just go to the family, we have to come up w—”

“CIEL! You came to visit me so soon!”, a male with an Indian accent yelled from a window, before disappearing and reappearing in front of you three, his caretaker following him. You recognized these people. It was prince Soma and Agni, his butler.

“As I was saying, (y/n).”, Ciel looked you into your eyes, directly,

“We have to come up with a pbed to save yo—”, Ciel interrupted himself this time, coughing once before continuing to speak,

“We have to come up with a plan to save the family first. We cannot just go to family’s location and improvise.”

“But you almost never come up with real plans that aren’t asking Sebastian to make a list of the subjects and then just going for it.”, you tilted your head at the boy standing in front of you. One of his eyebrows raised at your statement.

“How do you know about that? This is your first time coming with me on such a mission.”

You immediately realised your mistake and thought of a way to cover it up when much to your delight, prince Soma started whining,

“Ciel! Don’t just ignore me!”

“My prince, let us all get inside. The Phantomhive boy must be exhausted.”, Agni held the prince by his shoulders from behind and dragged him towards the door of the big house in front of you all. Sebastian also motioned for us to follow him inside, so you did.

You were the last to go through the door, but before you could take a step in, you heard leaves rustle to your right. Right away, you turned your head towards the sound, getting a glance at something dark purple as it disappeared.

“My lady?”, Sebastian looked at you, genuinely worried, as you shrugged him off and followed your fiancé up the stairs. The demon also did so.

“Right.”, Ciel sat down on the bed and exhaled loudly as you and Sebastian walked through the door, the butler making sure to close the door behind you. The prince and his butler seemed to have remained downstairs, giving you three space to plan out your next move.

You looked at Ciel as he thought when you heard something that sounded like a bird flying against the window. Worried, you ran towards it and opened it to check if a bird really did fly against it. Looking at the floor, you couldn’t see anything, so you furrowed your brows and closed the window again.

“What is going on? Could it be the Trancy boy again…”, you wondered out loud.

Come to think of it, this whole dream started out at the Trancy estate, so could he be connected to this? Where were you before being kidnapped, anyways? You had so many questions. Nothing of this made any sense to you.

“(y/n), I think it is best if you stay here. You seem to be awfully troubled.”, your fiancé suggested, but you declined.

“Fine, then. Let us go.”, Ciel hopped off the bed and walked in front of you, extending his hand for you to take. Hesitant you laid your hand on his and much to your surprise he gave the back of your hand a light peck, causing you to flush red in embarrassment.

Back in the carriage it was once more awkwardly silent. But you didn’t mind that much, since you were busy organizing your thoughts.

I was kidnapped by Alois Trancy and I can’t remember anything before that. I was saved by Ciel Phantomhive and now I’m on a mission with him. I am also in the place of Elizabeth Midford, which means I must’ve also been through the same stuff as her. And my family is also in the place of her family, then, if I am correct.

Your glance went from the outside world, over to Ciel. He was also watching the scenary pass by. After all this time you had wished to be sitting right in front of him, you now were. But you were not doing anything you always planned to do. In your thoughts, you had wanted to hug him and just comfort him, after everything he’s been through. But being in the situation, you couldn’t bring yourself to.

Suddenly the carriage stopped again, giving you the signal of arrival at the place. You didn’t know what was going to happen, but it wouldn’t really matter anyway. If you die in your dream, you couldn’t die in real life. The worst that could happen if you die, was that you would wake up.

When you snapped out of your thoughts, you saw Ciel leaving the carriage and you decided to also do that. As you were reaching for Sebastian’s hand to help you get out, someone whispered in your ear,

“(y/n) (y/l/n).”

You jumped out of the carriage and looked behind you. No one was there. The thing was that that wasn’t any voice you knew. But Sebastian must’ve seen the person that said your full name out loud, because his eyes turned pinkish-red and he mumbled something to himself,

Shinigami.”

Even with
his head in the dusty depths of the closet, Allen could still hear the loud
thud and a string of curses announcing that his flatmate somehow managed to get
through the front door.

“Careful,
Lavi!” Allen called, not bothering to look up and check on his friend. “I put
some boxes out in the hallway.”

“Yeah, I
noticed.” Lavi leaned against the doorframe, rubbing his shin and looking
around Allen’s bedroom with considerable confusion. “What’s with the barricade?
Is Two-Spots coming over?”

Allen emerged
from the closet, pulling a face at the mention of his probation officer.

“I could
set up bear traps in the staircase and that still wouldn’t stop him. No, he’s
not coming today. I just wanted to throw out some of this old stuff.” He
motioned at the mess of odds and ends spilling from cardboard boxes and swept up
in neat little piles on the floor.
