âAw, Yu!â Alma Karma sang out suddenly. âYou like Y/N, donât you?â
âShut up,â Yu Kanda hissed. âKeep your voice down, do you want the entire Order to find out?âÂ
âYou arenât denying it!â Alma gasped, raising his hands to his mouth in shock. âI never thought Iâd see the day! Devil Yu really does have feelings!â Kanda glared daggers at him.
âOh, I have plenty of feelings,â he spat venomously. âCurrently, Iâm feeling rage because you wonât shut the Hell up.âÂ
âNo need to be so cranky, Yu,â Alma replied casually, totally unaffected by his friendâs cruel tone. âHave you told them yet?â
âOf course not,â Kanda said, looking suddenly very exhausted. âWhy would I?â Alma shook his head, eyes wide as his jaw dropped.
âWhy would⌠Thatâs a dumb question! You can be so stupid sometimes,â Alma quickly cut off whatever retort Kanda had on the tip of his tongue. âMaybe they like you back? How would you ever know if you donât tell them your own feelings?â
âIâm not stupid,â Kanda growled. âAnd I donât care about their feelings. I personally believe this is a total hindrance, and I donât wish to pursue it.â Alma smiled pitifully at Kanda, patting his shoulder. Kanda shook his hand off.
âYouâre just being shy. Thatâs okay! Thatâs what Iâm here for! I wanna help you, Yu!â Alma splayed his hands out in the air, waving them in front of Kanda as if he were unraveling a scroll on a table. âOkay, hereâs my thought: Show off ourâer, specifically yourâincredibly abilities as, you know,â Alma stopped and used one of his hands to gesture to Kandaâs chest. âYeah, you know. The next time you two get assigned a mission together, show them that youâve got their back. Nothingâs more romantic than knowing that someoneâs got your back, always, no matter what, and that will keep you safe and protected!â
âNo,â Kanda replied bluntly.Â
âHrm, fine, but at least keep that one in mind,â Alma tapped his chin in thought before his eyes lit up. âA-ha! I know! You could stay classic and traditional and get them some flowers! I know you like those sorts of things.âÂ
Kanda just sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. âPlease just stop talking.â To his dismay, Alma did not, in fact, stop talking.Â
(Asdfghjkl hun you are so sweet, thank you so much! Iâm glad we could make your day! Featuring one of my all time favorite gifs of my husband. *blows a kiss at the night sky* for Lavi.)Â
âThis is crazy,â you gasped for the nth time since you had deserted your role as Exorcist with your lover and soon-to-be husband.Â
âA good crazy or a bad crazy?â Lavi Bookman chuckled, raising his eyebrow at you. Happiness twinkled in his eye, and you decided quietly to yourself, good crazy.Â
âAre youâŚsure about this?â This was another question you had kept asking. Lavi smiled in understanding and nodded, reaching over to grab your hand and raise it to his lips, placing a chaste kiss to your knuckles.Â
âOf course,â he said through a smile. âI should be asking you that. Iâm not deserting my actual jobâIâll still be a Bookmanâbut you, on the other hand, donât have that luxury. You know theyâll come after us, right?â His smile fell and his face became deadly serious.
âI know,â you gulped. You steeled yourself, pushing the nerves downâyou had already made your decision, long ago. âI didnât just rush into this blindly, you know that.â
âThatâs my Y/N,â As if by magic, his grin had bounced back into place. âClever as a fox, you are. Never one to rush into things without a plan.âÂ
âOh, hush, you,â you replied, feeling your own smile spreading. You reached over to lightly whack his arm with your free hand and he laughed, tugging you by your joined hands into his side. He released your hand and put his arm around your shoulders, holding you close. You could feel his lips against the top of your head as he placed a kiss there.Â
âI love you, you know that, right?â He asked softly.Â
âI know,â you echoed your earlier statement. âYou said yourself, Iâm a clever little fox, arenât I?â You heard him let out a breathy chuckle. Your eyes softened. âI love you, too.â
âItâs notâŚtraditional, nor conventional, for a Bookman to have any sort of family ties outside of the Clan, but,â He gently squeezed your shoulder. âWeâll make it work. I canât wait to be able to call you my wife.â
âOf course, husband,â you replied, craning your head back to smile at him. âWeâll figure it out, together.â
âYu! You have to help me impress them!â Alma Karma demanded in a whiny tone, stopping his companion in his tracks by grabbing hold of the other manâs arm with both of his hands. Yu Kanda shot him an annoyed look.Â
âI couldnât care any less,â he began, before another thought derailed his original line of thinking. âAnd anyways, how the Hell would I help anything? When have you ever seen me jumping at the chance to impress anybody?â
Alma jutted his bottom lip out and wrinkled his nose a bit, his eyebrows drawing together in a pout. His childhood friend was usually a man of few words, but when he did talk, he never had anything nice to say. A true friend would have responded with, sure, Alma, Iâll help in whatever way I can! He realized now that it was silly of him to think Kanda would help at all. Sometimes, he could be just so cruel.Â
âWhy are you always such a jerk, Yu?â Alma huffed, avoiding Kandaâs question. Kanda raised his eyebrows and lifted his hands in exasperation.Â
âYou are impossible, Alma. JustâI donât know, be yourself, or something. Thatâs what Lenalee would say.âÂ
âI know that she would say that,â he grumbled softly. âI already asked her to help.â
âIâwhat?â Kanda took a step back. âThen why the Hell are you bothering me about it?â
âBecause I thought you would care about my future, you jerk,â Alma sniffed dramatically. Kanda just shook his head and stormed off. Alma glared at his retreating form until he was out of sight and huffed once more. It looked like he was going to have to follow Lenaleeâs advice after allâhe had no other options.Â
Lavi is admittedly a little surprised every time you do this.
Itâs a good surprise, though!Â
I mean, you are coming in from his blindside, so he will never see it coming.
He thinks itâs so cute and loves the affectiion. Heâs a very affectionate man.
Heâll wrap an arm around your waist and tap his lips, demanding to get an actual kiss from you.
Heâll repay the favor by surprising you with random kisses on cheeks. He can be very sneaky, as we have seen in the village where Krory comes from where he just pops out of the barrel.Â
(Mmmmm Iâm gonna answer these as a âwhat makes them realize they are in love with their S/Oâ. Iâm pretty sure Iâve down confession headcanons in the past for them.)
Honestly, Allen falls in love all at once. It hits him like a splash of cold water.
He sees you one morning, and youâre talking to somebody, and heâs watching your little unconscious mannerisms and ticks and realizes, âIâm in love with them.â
At first heâs a little shockedâhe didnât exactly wake up thinking he was going to have that revelation today, but here he is. And then he smiles, because heâs okay with it.Â
He comes over and sits by you and when you ask him what the smileâs for he just hums and shrugs, gazing at you in awe. Itâs a good look for him, though, him being lovestruck.
Kanda would take a long time to realize heâs in love with you, and itâs your patience that seals the deal.Â
Youâve stuck around with him this long, but thatâs not it. You are patient with him even when heâs being an ass, or when heâs confused and lost.Â
He thinks you are a saint and the love he has for you is so strong it hurts and kind of scares him.
And then you smile at him and thatâs it, heâs gone. RIP Kanda
Lavi falls in love with your spirit. Your smile, your laugh, your life. He thinks you are a goddamn blessing and like Kanda, heâs terrified.
Bookman arenât suppose to have a heart and itâs like you stepped in and every glance, every gentle touch, every giggle and whispered uttered has filled his empty chest with warm love.
And heâs happy. So happy. He could cry. He doesnât. But he could.Â
Heâs conflicted. This really threw his plans out the fucking window. How is he going to be able to leave you now that he knows he loves you so much? It would kill him.
Lenalee falls in love with your strength. Not just physical strength, but your mental and emotional strength.
Sheâs always been worried that she wasnât strong enough, and next to you, she realizes that that wasnât the case; you make her realize that she was just strong in her own way, just like you were strong in your own way.
It makes her happy. You make her happy. She really wants to spend the rest of her life with you, no matter how long or short it may be.
She also falls in love with the way that you get along with Komui. She was afraid he would scare you off, but yet here you are, still with her.
Link falls in love with your gentleness. Heâs so used to being surrounded by rough and tough charactersâa lot of which seemed heartlessâthat he feared that he, too, would become like them.
And then here you come waltzing into his life, tugging out his inner kindness and gentleness.
The gentle way you seem to chip away at his rough exterior with a metaphorical chisel, breaking a part his protective wall and letting his feelings ooze out.
He realizes this when heâs making you your nth packed lunch in the early hours of the morning. His hands freeze as the realization dawns upon him, and he needs a moment to just breathe.Â
(Itâs official: exorcistcupid is now following a timeline where Alma is alive and well. Okay? Okay.)
âYuu, they are perfect,â Alma Karma cooed at his long standing best friend. Kanda sighed and pushed his noodles around with his chopsticks.
âThatâs nice,â he replied dryly. âI donât care.âÂ
âAw, Yuu!â whined Alma, grabbing his friend by the arm and shaking him. âI listen to you whine and complain about your life problems, the least you could do is pretend like you care about mine!â
âIf they are so perfect, why are you considering them one of your âlife problemsâ?â Kanda asked, shoving his bowl away. He was no longer hungry. âIdiot, that makes no sense.â
âOh, no! You misunderstand. They arenât the problem, I am!â he lamented. âI just canât work up the nerve to talk to them.â Kanda shook his head in exasperation.
âYou talk them every day? What hell are you going on about?â
âNo, like, you know, to talk about other stuff. You know, like,â Alma lifted the inside edge of his coatâwhich was unbuttoned, as always, to hide his face in the lapel. âFeelings, and stuff.âÂ
âSay âlikeâ one more time and Iâm dumping my noodles on your head,â Kanda promised. âAnd also, let me reiterate: I donât care.â
âYuu,â Alma whined again, beating on his friendâs arm. âYou are so mean!âÂ
âAlma? You alright over there?â He heard come from behind him. It must have been the angelâs choir with how beautiful they sounded. He turned slowly and beamed at the newcomer.Â
âY/N!â He sang. âEverythingâs a-okay! Yuuâs just being a jerk, like usual!â He elbowed Kanda in the ribs, who in turn shoved himânot hard enough to knock him off the bench, but enough to push him away. You laughed softly at the exchange.Â
âYou can come eat with me, if you want,â you offered. A soft dusting of rose colored his cheeks and he scratched the side of his face, embarrassed.Â
âThank you! But if I leave, Yuuâll be all alone. Oh! I mean, Kanda. You wonât be alone, because Iâd be with you,â he rambled off. He cleared his throat. âIâll just stay here, but really, thanks for the offer!âÂ
âWell, okay, if you say so. See you later, Alma, Kanda.â You nodded at each before leaving with your tray of food. Alma sighed dreamily and watched you leave, elbows on the table and his chin sinking into his hands.Â
(God me too, anon. I would literally die for him. Also I know you said history but my mind instantly went to literature, I am so sorry!)
âWith a battle-ready cry, our hero bursts into the room, crying, âTurn, hell-hound, turn!ââ cried Lavi Bookman in a passionate tone, raising his wooden toy sword.
âTurn, hell-hound, turn!â Parroted his young daughter, raising her own wooden sword.Â
ââYou cannot defeat me!â mocks the evil tyrant,â Lavi scowled dramatically, raising a hand to his chest. âFor the tyrant still believes himself untouchable, for only a soul born of no woman could do him any harm, but alas, our hero proclaims, âI was not born! From my motherâs womb, I was untimely ripped!ââ
âEw,â his daughter replied, breaking character, as she stuck her tongue out. Lavi laughed.
âIcky,â he agreed.Â
âI was not born!â she forged on, but her face was twisted into disgust at the words, which looked comical on a six year oldâs face.Â
âAnd so, the two set forth and battle!â As soon as the last word left his lips, his daughter charged, clacking their swords together. He rotated his blade this way and that, blocking more than anything. âThe battle proved to be an anticlimatic ending for the tyrant who thought himself so much more. A battle of words, a twist of beliefs, all falling on deaf ears, until our hero removes the tyrants head from upon his traitorous shoulders!âÂ
His daughter touched the tip of the wooden blade to Laviâs neck with a victorious Ha! Lavi fell back onto the bed, sticking his tongue out and pretending to be dead. He could hear the young girl cheering. He peeked his eye open and smiled, taking the opportunity to tickle her when she was least suspecting it. She howled out a loud laugh, trying to wiggle away from him.Â
âDaddy! Youâre suppose to be dead!âÂ
âIâm a zombie, rawr!â
âZombies donât rawr! Monsters do!â Lavi raised his hands in surrender.
âRight, right.â His daughter climbed up onto the bed and sat next to him.
âSo Macduff wasnât born?â she asked.Â
âNope,â Lavi said, relaxing back onto the bed, his long legs bent over the edge. âThey had to remove him from his momâs tummy through other means. Different than how you were born, at least.â
âI seeâŚâ she said. âSo I wouldnât have been able to defeat Macbeth myself?â
âSure you could,â he assured. âThey relied to much on Fate, and thatâs why these stories end the way they do. They fall into Fateâs hands itself. The only reason why Macbeth thought someone like Macduff would beat him was because the witches predicted it, but in the end, it was because Macduff had his own score to settle. How he was born didnât have anything to do with itânot really, at least.â
âI liked the witches,â she giggled. âThey talked funny.âÂ
âLavi,â came a warning voice from the doorway. Lavi lifted his head and saw you standing there, hands on your hips. âWhy are you telling our six year old the story of Macbeth?âÂ
âItâs a classic!â he countered in his defense. âAnd I left a lot of the gorey bits out!â
âI cut daddyâs head off!â his daughter chirped. You slapped your own forehead and groaned. Lavi pouted at his daughter.
Okay so Krory has no idea what the Hell heâs doing but that doesnât make him any less excited about the idea
Or nervous. Heâs scared as Hell, even though youâve never given him any reason to believe that you would ever scorn him, and that you love him.
He would wait for a long time into the relationship before even considering the idea.
He definitely seeks out the advice of his two closest friends: Allen and Lavi
And he tries every idea they give him. Even the dumb ones because he is a gullible man oh my god somebody save him.
Most attempts end up in him scampering off like a spooked animal. You canât count how many times now he has said âY/N I need to ask you something very importantâ before freaking out and sprinting off.
Now your beginning to panic
He ends up settling on a class courtship. Like, you were already dating, but he starts being exceptionally romantic and gets you gifts and such. Little things, he does have to buy you a ring, after all.Â
And he does. Itâs simple, but quite pretty.Â
You have to coax the question out of him because youâre exhausted of this worry heâs put on you. He whispers it out and you have to ask him to repeat himself a couple of times before he gulps and mutters loud enough for you to hear that he wants nothing more than to marry you.
Then he forgets about the ring and scrambles to pull it out but youâve already pulled him into the kiss but wait the ring-
(This AU is so valid and I am subscribed to it always)
Alma was very good at keeping his past from you, but chances are you overhead him talking to Kanda about it when he thought you werenât around.
Itâs not that he wanted to keep secrets from you, he just didnât want to make you sad! And oh boy, did it make you sad.Â
He sees you and smashes that mofo panic button, jumping up and hurrying over to try to cover up what he just said, but he eventually gives in and tells you everything. Kanda quietly excuses himself.
Heâs devastated you had to find out this wayâor that you had to find out at all.Â
Here he is, comforting you, and you feel a little silly because shouldnât it be the other way around? And he sort of feels wrong for comforting you after the shit he did.
He assures you that things have been much better for him and that heâs gotten better ever since he became a full-fledged Exorcist. He admits that he hates the Order, but he loves you, and nothing will change that, no will he ever endanger you.
He will understand if youâre a little (or a lot) afraid of him. Heâs just, you know, absolutely bloody terrified of that.Â
Itâs a hard thing to imagine having to do, but if you reassure himâeven if itâs just a little bitâhe may start crying from relief.Â
He genuinely loves you so much and he would never hurt you. Which he blabbers into your shoulder when you hold him.Â
(Happy Holidays, dear! Iâm not sure if anyone is still celebrating, but just in case!)
Tyki Mikk pushed open the door to the little shop, instantly getting hit with the strong, mingling scents of the floral inhabitants. The bell overhead jingled as he entered and closed the door behind him. He removed his top hat and ran a hand through his hair, smoothing it back, as he cast his gaze across the artistically cluttered area. It was very bright and warm and damp in here. Still, it was not the flowers he was looking for.Â
He strode up to the back counter and peered around before leaning slightly over the granite surface to squint into the back room. It was dark back there and partially covered by a red curtain, so he couldnât make out what was back there. He stood up straight once again and tapped the bell on the counter once. He heard shuffling, followed by a muffled, âJust a minute!â He smiled fondly at the voice and set his cane and hat upon the counter. The curtain moved aside to reveal his beloved Y/N, looking a little frazzled and embarrassed. The look quickly turned to shock, and then happiness.Â
âTyki!â You sang, hurrying over to the counter. âWhat are you doing here?â
âI was in the neighborhood and thought that I might stop by,â he informed, his eyes falling to the counter as a gloved finger traced circles on the smooth surface. âI apologize for not having brought a gift. I would have brought flowers, but, ah,â He leaned back from the counter to gesture around the room. You smiled and shook your head slightly.Â
âItâs alright, Tyki, your presence alone is gift enough.â He chuckled at that.
âSo I have been told,â he mused. You turned and began tying together lovely bouquets that had been ordered over the phone earlier that day. Tyki watched you work fondly. âWhat is a man to get for someone who works with flowers all day?â
âMm, well flowers are a plenty fine gift,â you said, not turning around. âI like them just fine, or else I wouldnât have opened this shop. However,â you stopped for a moment to think, tapping your bottom lip thoughtfully. âI suppose a snack would work, too. Iâm quite hungry.âÂ
âOf course, my love,â he chuckled. âIâll go to the mark down the block to get you something to make up for my lack of a gift, how does that sound?â
âHeavenly,â you replied, and your stomach decided to agree loudly at that moment. You flushed in embarrassment and put your hand over your stomach, glaring at it. Tyki laughed and when you turned around, he reached over the counter to grab your hand and raise it to his lips, pressing a quick kiss to it.Â
âIâll be back before you know it. Do try not to wither away while Iâm gone, okay?â You laughed and waved as he left. You pressed your hand to your chest and smiled fondly, watching him through the window as he disappeared from your view.Â
