There is a specific and terrifying difference between “never were” monsters and “are not anymore” monsters

“The thing that was not a deer” implies a creature which mimics a deer but imperfectly and the details which are wrong are what makes it terrifying

“The thing that was not a deer anymore” on the other hand implies a thing that USED to be a deer before it was somehow mutated, possessed, parasitically controlled or reanimated improperly and what makes THAT terrifying is the details that are still right and recognizable poking out of all the wrong and horrible malformations.

“The thing which was no longer a deer and maybe never was” implies a creature that, at first glance, completely appears to be a deer, but over time degrades very slowly until you realize (probably too late) that it is not a deer anymore, and had you seen it in this state first, you wouldn’t have recognized it as a deer at all, and there’s a decent chance that it was never actually a deer to begin with but only a very good mimic, and what makes this one scary is the slow change from everything being right to everything being wrong, happening slowly enough that you don’t even notice it until its too late, as well as the fact that something now so clearly not a deer could have fooled you to begin with.

“Why do you like the rain?” Izuku asks, looking outside the window. The gentle pitter patter of the clouds crying was calming, he could admit that, but it was incomparable to the gentle smile of a spring sun. “Especially cold rain,” he winces.

“It’s cozy,” she says, flopping down on his bed and wrapping herself in his blankets. “Like this,” she mumbles, pushing her face into his pillow. He smiles, lowering his eyes to the floor.

“But isn’t a sunny day better?” he asks. “We can go outside and go to the park, like a date,” he offers, stuttering the slightest bit. Something about her made him unable to let go of the childish feeling of a new crush, the heart fluttering excitement.

“Yeah, but on rainy days we have an excuse to stay in and watch movies, like a date,” she says, sitting up and offering a hand to him. He grabs it and she gently tugs.

“Wait, no my-” she continues to pull, making him fall face first into the mattress. “shoes,” he says, kicking them off and pushing himself onto the bed.

“An excuse to cuddle,” she says, nestling up to his side. He smiles, staring at the ceiling, glad she wasn’t looking at his face to see the soft blush that lit up his cheeks. Every time.

“I guess I can like rainy days too,” he mumbles, reaching up and gently combing his fingers through her hair.

“See,” she says, pulling the blankets up. “They’re sleepy days. Comfy, sleepy days.”

“Mm,” he agrees, feeling his eyelids becoming heavier already. “Perfect napping weather,” he hums.

Can i ask for scenario or hc of reader and shoto going to visit shoto’s mother(who reader dont meet before) bit reader get lost and end with rei but reader did not know she is shoto’s mom and reader ends chatting with her about reader’s handsome,cute, gentleman, perfect boyfriend and rei did not tell to reader who she is. Sauntering down the hallways of the establishment you had a tendency to become distracted as you observed the nurses perform their duties and accidentally made wrong turns that separated you from Todoroki. Small panics arose in your chest though you appeared composed and continued wandering through the labyrinth pathways until you reached a familiar setting. Suddenly you happened upon another individual—a beautiful woman seemingly walking back to her room and you gathered the courage to politely request her assistance to bring you back to the front desk.

Rei agreed to guide you back to where you came from and she created small conservations with you asking what your reason for being here at the hospital today. You admitted that you were with your boyfriend to meet his mother and carelessly gotten lost after only two minutes of your arrival—a bad habit of yours that you should break. Rei compliments that your boyfriend must be lucky to have you since you’re so beautiful and seem like such a sweet girl from her first impression.

Light dustings of primrose pink clouded your features and you sheepishly confessed that it was the other way around then unintentionally rambled about the things you loved about Todoroki. He’s sweet and caring towards you, extremely positive and supportive of your decisions, and finds ways to love you a little more even on your bad days, etc. After coming to the realization that you were being a chatterbox you promptly apologized and expressed that you couldn’t help it because your boyfriend was the absolute light of your life and you simply loved how calm and completely accepting he is—he’s definitely your anchor.

Once you both have reached your destination you thanked Rei for her kindness and she wished you the best of luck meeting your boyfriend’s parent before saying your goodbyes. Moments after she disappeared Todoroki entered the premise and revealed that he was worried looking everywhere for you then teases that your ability to become astray is extraordinary. Before proceeding to his mother’s room Todoroki interlocks your fingers with his for obvious reasons so that you can no longer drift away from him while heading there.

The moment Todoroki slides the door to his mother’s room open you were unexpectedly met with the same woman you were with no more than five minutes ago. You and Rei exchanged a look of astonishment as Todoroki introduced you as his significant other while he guided you into the room by the small of your back. Your thoughts spiraled into oblivion as you concealed the embarrassment after recalling your encounter with Todoroki’s mother. Rei only looks at you with soft eyes and a gentle smile before expressing, “(Name), was it? So nice to finally meet you. I’ve heard a lot about you from my dear Shouto.”

You stood in the corner of Undertaker’s shop, your hands shaking from the cold and rain dripping off your nose to join the small puddle that surrounded you. It was pouring down with rain outside, the water coming down in icy sheets that soaked you to the bone and rendered your appendages useless.

It was just your luck that the one time you didn’t have your waterproof coat with you was the one time that you needed it.

You hadn’t seen Undertaker all day, so busy were you with the various errands of the day that took up all your time and kept you away from your s/o.

Said s/o was now watching you with barely concealed glee, his hands hidden in his overly large sleeves.

You were wet and cold and in too much discomfort to really care about anything, and so you had no qualms in stripping down to your underclothes right there and there in the doorway, peeling layers off your body. They fell to the floor with a heavy plop, such was the water saturation.

Undertaker watched you undress. He advanced towards you, getting closer with each step that he took. Soon enough, for you were not wearing many layers – the weather had taken such a turn for the worse that you just were not prepared – he reached you, and backed you into the wall.

Phospherent chartreuse eyes met your own, and a slow, sure smirk spread across his face. His hands came up to rest on your shoulders and he trailed them down, over your arms, ghosted over your hands, and then across, to your stomach and hips. He gripped, tugging you into him, and you gasped at the contrast between his hot fingers and your cold skin.

“Can I kiss you?” His ethereal eyes fell onto your lips and you felt the urge to kiss him.

Breath caught in your throat as you said, “After that display? You better.”

Living in Alternia is hard and requires from you a lot of physical straining, so having him manipulate your body in all the right ways would leave you more than pleased afterwards.
