he started to slow and you opened your eyes, perking up at the familiar sign that read “pop’s” he came to a stop and you loosened up your grip a little, “what are we doing here?” you asked.
he turned to look at you in his seat, “can’t a guy treat a cute girl to a milkshake and a motorcycle ride?”

“Stop,” Jason mumbles into the pillow. You continue to stare excitedly at him from your side of the bed.
“Stop, what?” you feign innocence.
He opens one eye. “Stop looking at me like you know more than I do. It makes me nervous.”
You gasp, bringing your hand over your mouth. “I am making the Red Hood nervous?”
He opens both of his eyes to glare narrowly at you. “No, you are making the man who specifically said not to make a big deal out of today feel like you are definitely about to make a big deal out of today.”
“So,” you pull out two frosting dispensers, “You don’t want to make a cake?”
He chuckles and shakes his head. “How long have you been holding them?”
“Too long, now come on!” You sit up and shove them in his face.
He grabs his pillow and places it over his face with a groan.
“Fine,” you sigh and climb off the bed, “Looks like I’m the one that’s going to have to do all the cooking.”
Jason removes the pillow and sits up. “Don’t threaten me, it’s my birthday.”
“Sure, now it’s your birthday, when it is convenient for you!” Your voice fades as you walk into the kitchen. Jason can’t help the widespread grin growing on his face as he shakes his head. He definitely knew you would ignore his request. He just hopes you don’t go overboard.
The bedroom is dark when Steve steps in. Warm and drenched in your scent.
It calms his mind, the soft moonlight lighting up his home. Makes the cuts on his face and the gash on his cheekbone stop throbbing. It turns the bruising of his ribs into a phantom pain, an ache he can barely register.
He glances at the clock on the nightstand, notices how late it is. Setting his bag down as carefully as he can, he toes off his boots. Starts to step out of his suit as his eyes adjust to the inky air around him. Allows himself to look around until he sees the pile of blankets on the bed, moving slightly with your deep breaths.
It’s like he’s only been gone for a few minutes when he sees one of your hands lying limp over the side of the bed, the only part of your body he can see. It’s like the three weeks he spent away from you didn’t happen – like they were only a hazy dream. And now he’s waking up with you.

Winter – It was Steve’s least favourite season. A season that consisted of stale memories of a small boy, trapped in bed, shivering and weak and sick. He didn’t think he’d ever spent a winter – before the ice – in a healthy state. In Steve’s mind, winter was riddled with loneliness and fear.
The sky overhead was grey – not just grey, no, it was a harrowing mixture of charcoal, silver, gunmetal grey and stormy blue. A looming threat of darkness and downpour.
Though Steve knew he wasn’t that same boy, part of him remained – a part that made him anxious for the oncoming storm.
her eyes looked the new outfit up and down before she attempted to focus her attention elsewhere, which proved difficult. she found her eyes drawn back to you over and over again.
Rocket finally approached her, “hey, heart eyes, you’re getting a bit obvious.”

-the first time the gang sees him with his arm over your shoulders everyone freaks out
-writing dates where you both just chill and he writes and you’re both just content to be with each other
-having to deal with his moodiness and odd hunches about crime
-calling him Bat Man because this boi is determined to clean those streets
-the gang being weird about you at first but learning to love you too
-wearing only his serpent jacket
-sitting with each other in class
-just being super close
-and it started a friendship so your connection is just amazing
-being at Pop’s a lot
-its the go to date place
-so people crash your dates a lot but its okay, you and Jug are #friendlycouple
-the way he looks at you is just heart eyes
-he is also so sassy to people who are even slightly mean to you
-this boy dont play games
-he tells you straight up that he loves you and after that, you both can’t stop saying it
-in fact, it kind of makes people jealous because you two are so in love
“what did you say?” Sweetpea asked, turning to glared down the guy.
“Sweetpea its fine.” you said, grabbing his arm.
“no baby its not.” he looked back at the guy, “what did you say.” he growled.
the guy looked at you then at Sweetpea, “i didn’t realize you were her boyfriend otherwise i wouldn’t have said anything.” the guy said.
Sweetpea grabbed the front of the guy’s shirt, “you should never speak to a woman like that period, boyfriend or not.” he shoved the guy into the locker and threw his arm over your shoulder, taking you down the hallway.
“thanks for doing that, even though you arent my boyfriend.”
“i should be.” he said.
you looked up at him, he looked straightforward, “do you want to be?” you asked.
he stopped and looked down at you, a smile flashing over his face, “yeah. i would. i mean…. if you want to be my girl.”
