Cor once put orange juice in his coffee maker instead of water to get vitamin C & caffeine in one go and has learned the hard way that you can’t cook anything (raw egg on piece of bread, easy and quick! then forgetting the bread) in a toaster. but then he adopted Prommy, and he’s a wonderful baby and after all he went through to save & steal Prom he figured he shouldn’t accidentally kill him with food poisoning and took every advanced cooking class in eos

Like it’s not just the “Cor can’t cook and confused things”, Cor’s actually putting the orange juice in the coffee maker for a reason THAT I WOULD ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE FROM HIM AHAHAHAHHAHAHA ahas

HHAahahahahahahahhaahahahah!!! IT’S BRILLIANT!

Cor “I don’t have time for this shit” Leonis, watching orange juice, then coffee, hating that he has to drink both because 1. coffee to certain measures is healthy and he needs it to function, and 2. orange juice is needed because vitamin C and he has to stay healthy and blah blah blah, but he doesn’t have the time (it’s actually the patience, but he blames time for it) to drink both in the same breakfast.

That, OR he just grew tired from routine.

So if you mix orange juice and coffee in one it’s the same thing, right? “I mean it all gets mixed in the stomach, so what is the difference about mixing it all before it reaches the stomach right.  How bad can this be”

That was the story of the day Cor gave himself a sick stomach.

I love love love love LOVE L O V E that Cor attends cooking classes SPECIFICALLY for Prommy. Cor wasn’t only single dad, baby also arrived unexpectedly, so he was taken entirely off guard about all this. He wasn’t given time to get physically or mentally prepared in any way for a son, so I imagine he must have tried his absolute best and more when he got Prommy. Cor fears to mess up, and tries extra hard on being a good dad, so he goes distances just to achieve that.

An example, cooking lessons

I imagine Cor feeding baby Prom, then lost in his train of thoughts he realizes that Prommy’s not going to eat baby food forever and that one day Cor needs to cook for him. And then he remembers about the one time he poisoned himself with orange juice and coffee and when the toaster almost set itself on fire because he put an egg in it, and he realizes it.

“Clarus. I’m a mess in the kitchen.”

“Astrals BLESS, how LONG did it take you to notice!?”

So Cor thinks about it and realizes that he’s an IDIOT of a cook, and that cannot be! He has a son who will eventually grow up and leave baby food, and who will need proper, real food! And what if Cor is not prepared for that? What if he has poor Prommy starving to death? Worse, what if Cor tries cooking for him and poisons him by accident because he’s still lost in the kitchen!?!?!

HE AIN’T GONNA ALLOW THAT. He has to be  a proper cook! And for that he has- he has 

HE HAS TO TAKE COOKING CLASSES!

Sweet adorable papa Cor, you’re incredible please marry me. 

Cor, dead-face Cor, cold eyed, serious, quiet, tough and tall, imposing, scary Cor Leonis, wearing an apron that’s too small on him, in a pastel-colored kitchen, learning to cook. (how many of the women attending the class do you think tried to flirt with him because omg that’s one handsome gentleman that’s learning to cook I need to marry him he’s Husband Material. Move aside ladies, Cor’s not interested and loves the life of a single dad thank you).

I love that you say that Cor’s taking “all the advanced cooking classes on Eos” because Cor literally just needed to learn how to properly cook, just, you know, for the daily life. INSTEAD, Cor turns into the next ABSOLUTE CHEF MASTER because HE JUST DOESN’T KNOW WHEN TO STOP.

Cor’s coming and going through all of cooking lessons in Insomnia because I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO COOK FOR MY SON, HE NEEDS TO BE HEALTHY I WANT HIM TO BE HEALTHY AND I WANT TO BE A GOOD COOK FOR HIM DAMMIT.

Cor can manage the BEST damn meals of all Eos, Prommy’s friends ADORE going to his house because of Cor’s cooking, BUT IT’S NOT ENOUGH 

“Uhm. Yes it is? Cor you just wanted to cook properly. And look at yourself; you cook properly, and fantastic enough. You don’t only make proper meals, you also make delicious meals. It’s more than you wanted.”

There is a reason Cor is so exhausted by age 45 dammit, MAN DOESN’T KNOW WHEN TO STOP.

Papa Cor? Yes. Papa Cor taking cooking classes specifically for Prommy? YES 10000 TIMES.

The reason 45 y.o. Cor is such a good cook even when 20′s Cor was a mess is “he wanted to cook good food for baby Prompto so he took classes” is APPROVED AND IT MELTS MY HEART AND TEARS IT INTO HAPPY P IECES, THANK YOU.

as a child, Prompto once asked if he could bake a cake for Noctis tomorrow (on his best friend’s birthday) but since Cor never made a cake in his life (he took cooking classes for meals! classes for bread! classes for pastries! fOR THE LOVE OF LUCIS HOW DID HE FORGET ABOUT CAKES) so he stayed up all night, sitting in front of the laptop Prompto convinced him to get & showed him the bare basics, watching cake making videos on Moogletube he thought Prom woke up at night until he saw the sun up

Well he doesn’t NEED it, but…well, we know our dear Cor. Not really knowing the meaning of the word ‘Limits’. There’s NONE to him, he either goes GIANT or NOWHERE AT ALL. Son wants to make a homemade cake for his best friend? YOU CAN SURE BET YOUR GODDAMN ASS THAT THEY’RE GOING TO MAKE THAT CAKE, JESUS.

I imagine him FREAKING OUT in cosmical measures, made a paranoid and anxious mess, walking in circles and pulling what little hair he has out like

I am not sure if Cor is taking the Drama Queen crown to a new cosmical level or if he’s just having a stress breakdown

THIS SCENARIO IS SUPER SWEET, THOUGH.

1. Prommy teaching Cor the basics to Moogletub, did I understand that? BECAUSE THAT’S SO SWEET, awkward “technology confuses me and I’m just thirty-two” Cor is STUPIDLY, INCREDIBLY, MEGA ADORABLE.   Tiny seven year old Prommy teaching Cor to use Moogletub in the laptop, and then Cor like “Okay, son, you- give me a moment and I’ll handle it in a sec. Alright?” and Prommy thanks him and leave, and Cor puts on videos to guide himself in the kitchen for the cake.

2. Cor actually watching a ka-lot of Moogletube videos to learn to make a cake specifically and solely because his son asked him for a cake :’)   HAS A BETTER AND MORE PURE DAD THAN COR EVER EXISTED ANSWER IS NO COR IS AN ANGEL OF A DAD OKAY, HE BEST DAD HE NEEDS AN AWARD

It’s super sweet, seriously! Cor taking the time and effort and putting all his focus into learning through videos just to make a cake, when he’s entirely clueless on it, just for little Prommy. SO SWEET UGH.

3. He stayed up all night for it? :’3

Honestly it’s hilarious at first, BUT THE FLUFFY IMAGES KEEP COMING TO MY HEAD, AND I’M DYING.

Cor is there at the kitchen, finishing the decoration of the cake and celebrating on his own, when tiny Prom appears at the door. He’s, of course, in his blue and white with yellow chocobo drawings pajamas, rubbing his eye, and staring at Cor in absolute shock.

“Prompto” Cor says in a murmur, surprised. “What are you doing here, my boy? It’s like 11, you should be in bed.”

“11?” Prommy asks, eyes wide. “Dad, it’s not that late. See, it’s seven.”

“Sev-?” Cor started asking because he thought more time had passed? Oh well at least it’s earlier than- wait a minute  “In the morning?”

“Yeah. I have to leave for school in an hour, dad. Did you sleep, papa? You look so tired. Did I keep you awake? :’(”

Somehow, Cor reassured him it wasn’t his fault, did the morning routine, and left Prommy at school. He usually lets him take the bus, but boy is carrying with a birthday cake so better stay safe there. Prommy thanks him like Cor just saved the entire world before leaving for school, BASICALLY ROCKETING HIS WAY INTO IT BECAUSE OMG HE’S SO EXCITED THIS IS THE BEST CAKE THAT HAS EVER EXISTED, NOCT WILL LOVE IT I AM  E C S T A T I C *UNINTELLIGIBLE PROMPTO SCREECHING*

Cor drives away, goes into the Citadel, prepared for work. 

The plan was that Mr. Scientia would pick both Noct and Prommy from school and to the Citadel, and Prompto runs to papa’s office as soon as he’s there because HE HAS TO THANK PAPA AGAIN, NOCT LOVED THE CAKE SO MUCH IT WAS THE BEST CAKE EVER, LOOK I SAVED A PIECE FOR YOU TOO, DAD, HGFDKASDKJLSDF

But as soon as Prommy bursts into his office, it’s like he walks into a wall and he stays there frozen and silent.

Cor, of course, is asleep on his desk. :’)

Prompto’s just 7, but heck does he understand. He knows that Cor stayed up all night just to make the cake, didn’t complain, even attended work without having slept! And honestly WHAT A MAN, I want to be like my dad one day ohmygod he’s so hard working and wants to make me happy and I LOVE HIM SO MUCH ASDJDSFD

So even though Prommy was SUPER EXCITED about hanging and playing with Cor, all that he does is grab a blanket that was around from previous day when Prom insisted he slept there until dad was finished with some papers, climbed onto the desk, and covered Cor with it. It’s not particularly cold, but blankets have the power to scare nightmares away (Cor told him that, so IT’S TRUE, SHUT UP).

“You sleep, papa, I won’t tell the king” Prommy whispers. And then he gives a little kiss to Cor’s head. “Thank you for the cake, papa. You’re the best.”

And that’s how Prommy leaves to play with his friends somewhere else, while Cor sleeps on his desk because he spent the previous night making a cake not for the prince, but for his son so he could gift it to his friend.

PS: the king knows, he just decides to pretend he doesn’t. Don’t tell Prompto :’)

Noctis is much more successful being romantic things, not in person. like sending Prom flowers, except he’s still Noctis (aka a mess with a royal bank account) so instead of sending ‘a bouquet’ he orders half the flower shop to be sent to Prom. Prom’s so happy to get flowers and so embarrassed by everyone looking at the flower truck unloaded on him he’s a stuttering mess with a red face for hours after and just hides his face in Noct’s neck later when they meet up for a date

Just the image of a flower truck driving up to prom’s house and dumping a fuckton of flowers on him is pretty damn amazing. Noct’s probably off to trhe side, hiding in the bushes so he can see Prom’s reaction lmao
Prom would just sit there dreamily staring at the flowers because while this is kind of stupid it’s also the sweetest thing ever and he’s just so full of love.
He just doesn’t know yet how h’s gonna give them all new water everyday because that alone would probably take him 5 hours :’D But he also doesn’t wanna let them die 
I’m pretty sure Noct would also be a blushing mess. They’re so precious halfdhfkjskasgdsd

smol Noct meeting Prom as kids and since he’s the prince and all, and he gets whatever he wants (he doesn’t ask for much usually, but he gets the toys & sweets and all) he gets all mad when Prom needs to go home for the night “No! He’s my Prompto and he’s staying here and I’m gonna marry him.” a cute tantrum in his most defiant voice while gripping Prom’s arm with both hands and glaring at Cor trying to take him, Regis is in tears at the adorable children

They have to arrange a spontaneous sleepover because Noct is very determined to keep Prom here

This only becomes a problem when the next day Noct also doesn’t want Prom to go home …
