Important! Decide to make a small preference instead of an imagine -because Castlevania is not so plenty of characters so the effort is smaller- for the request “Trevor/Alucard reaction if he have a nightmare about his s/o dying and awaking to find them sleeping on their side” . Hope it will not bother you all the change, and specially the person who sended the request ^^
Important, part 2! As usual I try to do my writing “gender – free”, if you understand me, but only for Trevor, Alucard and Sypha – Dracula has been defined as hetero by the tv show, and as I write about it, I’ll keep it this way ^^ )
Trevor – Him will awake all sweaty and nervous, more focused on find his sword to avenge his s/o death than ready to understand that this all was only a dream. On his nervousness and quick movements he will awake his partner too, but if not, he will look for his s/o as soon as he takes his sword or his whip, and when he finds his s/o deeply sleep, curled on his side as a cat, he will leave his sword and simply hug his s/o against his chest, trying to don’t awake him/her. He will stay in that position all night long, not sleeping again, because he fears that his nightmare come back.
Sypha – She will awake but making not a movement, because the fear is still placed on her brain and she is not still understanding if she is on the real world or not. She will move her hand slowly to the place she thinks her s/o is, and if by a casual is on other place, or a bit farther than she was hoping, she will open her eyes to find where really is, only to calm down when she finds him/her heavily sleeped. Then, she will try to sleep again, but getting closer to her s/o, because she needs to feel his/her body near to her to feel ok.
Alucard – Being a young vampire have benefits, as a better hearing, so when he wakes with his heart beating like a war drum because the horror of his nightmare, he will try to stay quiet to hear his s/o blood running and his/her heart pumping. If he finds the sound, he will feel better inmediatly, and even will feel a bit silly because he have believed a dream is true. Then he will cuddle near to his s/o body, maybe asking himself if he should tell him/her what have happened on the next morning, and will surrender to the sleep if he feel still tired. If not, he simply will stare at his s/o for a while, and maybe get out bed to make something special for him/her for breakfast.
Dracula – His heart was broken once, when Lisa died, so he is not ready to let any other member of his family – a blood relative or not- to die, even on dreams. So, as soon as he awakes he will not able to use his better hearing to hear his s/o heartbeat, because his nervousness wins him; instead, he will turn his head to his s/o, to realise if she is still breathing, and even putting his hand on her nose or mouth to feel the air coming in and out of her. He will then check if he have cried on dreams, because two reasons: his tears are made of blood -and that can scare anyone, even her- and he doesn’t want his s/o to find out he have a soft spot. He will not sleep too much after that, but will stay all night controlling his s/o breathing, because only that sound could calm him down, reasuring him everything is fine because she is alive.
He loves closeness with his S/O. So he actually really loves it!
Actually when walking around he always offers his arm for you to hold onto- real gentleman that way ❤
He may shove you backward a little roughly if you were in immediate danger, or use his magic to transport you to a safe place before handling a threat
Otherwise, he’s always there to protect you and will always reassure you to calm your nerves and not be so uncomfortable about minor things
Or he’ll direct you away from the thing that makes you upset while still reassuring you
TREVOR
“Holding a little tight are you Y/N?” He’ll tease you. Mercilessly. 😛
It’s in good jest though because he understands you’re shy and often get nervous, especially given…his livelihood
If this is in a social situation he steps up towards the threat to kinda scare it off, like staring down a rude man or telling them off while keeping you slightly behind him
Practically speaking tho he’ll direct you with his other hand like, “Best you get behind me love, I’m going to need both arms. Stick back with Sypha.”
ALUCARD
In a social situation he’ll use his other hand to pet one of your hands clinging to his arm, trying to silently reassure you and calm down
In a more combat oriented situation he’ll look at you sternly and say, “Stay back, Y/N. Far back.”
In a serious situation he might shove you back like his dad but generally he’ll be more likely to turn his whole body to protect you this way, until he can get you to appropriate safety
