Since he doesn’t need to sleep surprise breakfasts are always a thing. It’s mostly just coffee and toast though because ya boy wasn’t built to cook, but it’s the best damn coffee and toast you’ve ever had.
This whole love and relationship thing is brand new to him so don’t expect too much PDA on his end. He mostly likes holding your hand and if he’s not holding your hand he’s just standing really close. Close enough to touch you if he wanted to.
However, if you decide on showing a little PDA just be warned that the poor boy isn’t going to know how to react. You can practically see the buffering symbol on his face. If he had the physical ability to blush he’d be bright red…or blue. Because yeah he’s programmed to deal with human unpredictability but I don’t think Cyberlife had this in mind.
Behind closed doors though you’re getting all the affection. Hugs, snuggles, cuddles, kisses. All of it.
Speaking of kisses, his favorite thing to do is to press kisses against your temple. Mostly because he loves the fact that you always lean into him when he does it. He finds it cute.
He knows that there are limitations to your relationship because he’s an android and you’re human. Things like having kids and aging are hard topics. But you always assure him that you knew what you were getting into when you started dating him. In the back of his mind though he’s still worried that one day you’ll change your mind and leave because you want something that he can’t give you.
Date nights consist of a lot of different things but the most favored activity is you showing Connor all the best parts of pop culture you grew up on. Connor goes to work the next day with all this new knowledge and who better to use it on than everyone’s favorite Lieutenant. All the “angry” texts you get from Hank the next day are just an added bonus.
Note: This is sort of a continuation of the repairing Connor imagine.
While you were genuinely surprised to find Connor standing outside your door, you simply couldn’t hide the smile that formed on your lips at the sight of him. Without saying a word you pulled him into a hug and, even though he seemed uncertain of what to do at first, he eventually loosened up and wrapped his arms around your waist.
“I’m so proud of you for what you did,” you whispered to him.
Connor hesitated for a few seconds before letting you go to take a step back. “How did you know it was me?” he asked with his head tilted to the side.
With a short laugh you turned around to head back to the kitchen island where you’d left your glass of red wine. Once you settled down on a barstool you pointed at the one next to you, waiting for Connor to sit down as well. You slowly drank a bit and took a good look at him. He was different; he seemed to be much more confident about who he really was which was most probably the result of him finally becoming a deviant.
“One of the TV channels showed aerial footage of the area of the CyberLife tower,” you finally began your answer. “I noticed an RK800 standing next to the android who gave a speech when they zoomed in on him.”
“That was Markus,” he informed you even though you hadn’t asked him about it. “But you haven’t answered my question, Y/N. How did you know it was me?”
“I worked with the RK800 series since the beginning. I know them. And when I say you’re the only one who ever showed signs of deviance, you can believe me.”
He smiled at you but this smile quickly faded when he realized you were keeping something from him. Since Connor was good at putting pieces of a puzzle together you weren’t surprised when he stood up and looked down at you with a deep frown. “Why did you leave CyberLife? I always assumed you liked working there.”
It was an excellent question and for a moment you hated him for being so good at this. But in the end you decided to be honest this time so you said, “It wasn’t really my decision. They wanted me gone because I found out something I shouldn’t have.”
“And what was that? What did you find out?”
For long moments you were quietly thinking about what to say. It wasn’t an easy decision to make because you had no idea how he would react. “I wanted to know why you were different than the others so I began to compare certain test results and logs,” you began after the pause with your eyes fixed on your hands. “I found out that they had a plan with you all along. They–”
“They compromised me so I would become a deviant eventually,” he finished instead of you. “But they were planning to take back control of my program when the right time came.”
“You know about this?” you asked in disbelief.
As he let out a sigh, Connor nodded. “I found out when Markus gave that speech. That was the moment when they tried to regain control of my program.”
“But they clearly couldn’t do it,” you pointed out with a confused look on your face. “Why?”
“Because I knew a way to stop them. Every android has an emergency exit in their program, all I had to do was finding it in time.”
It didn’t make you feel any better. In fact, finding out CyberLife almost succeeded only made things worse. You were a terrible person for not doing your best to tell him the truth right in the beginning.
Once you quickly finished your wine you put the empty glass on the kitchen island and gulped loudly. “Look, Connor, I know I should’ve told you but they threatened to destroy my career and life if I tried to warn or contact you in any way. I’m so sorry and you have every right to be mad at me.”
“I understand, they didn’t give you a choice,” he suddenly told you as he took your hand the way you used to do back in CyberLife whenever he needed reassurance. “Also after everything you did for me in the past I’m not sure if I could ever be mad at you. Look, can I ask you something? Actually, this is why I came here in the first place.”
“Sure, go ahead,” you said with a nod, relieved that he simply let that topic go.
He looked uncertain for a few seconds and it made you wonder what it was all about. But then he let go of you hand and said, “I met androids who are in love and I can’t help but wonder if… Well, if there is a chance androids and humans could one day fall in love with each other too.”
“Honestly, I have no idea,” you admitted after quickly thinking about it. “I mean, some people have very weird fetishes and preferences when it comes to choosing their partners so compared to those being in love with an android almost sounds… normal.”
“So you think it’s possible?” When you nodded he reached up to his neck to loosen his tie and cleared his throat. “Do you think you could ever be in love with one?”
“It depends on the android,” you replied with a smile, wondering where he was going with this.
Once again he hesitated but after a few seconds of silence he went on. “How do you know if you’re in love or not?”
“Well, if you’re not sure, you only have to kiss them. If there’s a spark, you’ll know, trust me. But Connor, what’s going on?” you asked with a laugh, finding it funny how confused and innocent he looked now.
But he didn’t say anything. Instead he leaned forward and gently kissed you, patiently waiting for your reaction. It was unexpected to say the least but you couldn’t lie to yourself. You liked it, you liked Connor and you also had a feeling it had been a long time coming anyway.
After only a few seconds he pulled away, visibly worried about what you’d say about what’d just happened. He looked like an adorable but confused puppy with those brown eyes of his which made you smile.
“I would’ve asked for your permission but you said I should just try to kiss you so that’s what I did,” he quickly explained sheepishly as he straightened up and tugged on his jacket.
Without saying a word you reached out and took the end of his usual black tie so you could pull his head back down to yours. “Did you like it?”
“I did,” Connor admitted with his eyes fixed on you. “What about you?”
For a moment you only watched him with a smile. You liked deviant Connor. You really did. And it wasn’t enough. His kiss was like a drug: you got a taste of it and from that point on there was no turning back.
“I want more,” you eventually told him before you kissed him again.
You didn’t miss Connor’s smile as he firmly put a hand on the side of your neck before getting lost in this brand new experience.
Being in a relationship with Connor would involve…
Talking about things you like most of the time because Connor is still terrible at small talks and usually chooses safe topics.
Hank getting calls from him whenever he needs a relationship advice, even though he’s not necessarily the best expert of relationships.
You showing up at DPD every now and then, making sure you make out with him whenever Gavin is around just to piss him off.
Connor watching you while you’re sleeping since he doesn’t need to sleep at night and has nothing better to do.
Sumo being a frequent guest of your dates since Connor loves his “furry brother” so much (but you’re not always happy about this).
You and Connor agreeing to have a dog of your own which ends with you trying to stop him from adopting every single dog from the shelter.
Just lying in bed, cuddling and holding hands during the weekends.
Connor bringing your breakfast to bed because he loves to see how happy that makes you.
You trying to learn his coin tricks: he’s a patient teacher but you get frustrated easily from not fully grasping the move, so he has to calm you down with slow kisses.
Note: Thank you so much anon!! I’m glad you guys like and enjoy reading what I post. It makes me so happy 😀 I wish I could play the game but right now, your girl don’t have $100to spare to go buy it *crying while laughing* xxx
Title: Meeting Points at 8pm Character: Connor: DBH A/n: Aha another fun Connor story i wrote at 3am, but i promise the Markus one is coming soon.
•
In retrospect, maybe it would have been a smart idea to check on the loud thumping noise that came from upstairs. But, in your defense, you simply thought it was Hank stumbling around in his drunken haze.
Hank was easily the most stubborn drunk you’d ever met. Take his sober charming personality and double it, then you’ll get a vague picture of how delightful it is to look after him when he was inebriated. So, it came to no surprise that he was up and about even though you told him to go lie down.
You were down in his basement, currently putting all of the messy clothes that completely took over his house into the wash. You were Hank’s neighbor, and probably the closest thing he had to a friend.
The grump could deny all he wanted, but underneath his constant complaining that he didn’t need you hovering about him like his mother and insisting he could take care of himself. You knew he enjoyed your company.
That being said, it was Hank, and your companionship did little to help his drinking habits. After around the fifth lecture of what all that alcohol was doing to his liver, you decided to let him be. At the very least, you could make sure he didn’t end up killing himself and drank some water every now and then.
It wasn’t until you heard Sumo barking that you decided to investigate. Propping the laundry basket against your hip, you ascended the stairs.
“Hello?” You called out, noticing that Sumo was still going mad in the kitchen. “Hank?”
You made it about two steps into the kitchen before you saw a stranger lying on the floor, a broken window behind him and Sumo obscuring is your view.
In your shock, you dropped the laundry basket onto the floor, drawing the attention of both the dog and the man.
You placed your hand over your chest, a sigh of relief washing over you when you noticed that Sumo had calmed down, rubbing his head against the stranger’s outstretched hand. Sumo must have recognized him.
“Sorry about that,” You breathed, reaching down to pick up the basket. “I didn’t realize anyone had come in and you scared me is all.”
The man stood up, slightly cowering away from the St. Bernard.
“Oh, don’t worry about him,” You said with a smile, setting the basket on the cluttered kitchen table before reaching down to scratch the dog’s head affectionately. “Sumo’s a gentle giant, won’t do you any harm if he thinks you’re safe.”
You looked up to introduce yourself, but your attention was caught by the blue accents on his jacket and the glowing LED on his head.
“Wait a second,” You said, tilting your head to look at him better. “Are you the android I hear Hank complain about every day?”
“I’m Connor,” He introduced. “I’m an android sent by CyberLife to help Lieutenant Anderson solve the recent spike in deviant cases.”
“Sounds very official,” You mused before a realization hit you. “Wait, may I ask what you’re doing here and why you broke one of the windows?”
Connor turned around, as if forgetting his less than conventional way of making an entrance. “Oh yes, I had tried using the doorbell, but no one answered.”
“So,“ You drawled out, making a gesture to the window. “You just thought to break a window and hop on in?”
“More or less, yes,” He reasoned, before understanding your point. “It’s very urgent that I see Lieutenant Anderson, we’ve just been given a new case.”
The sudden sound of Hank throwing up from the bathroom made you cringe.
“Well, you certainly chose a pretty bad time. I came in to check on him like I usually do, and he was passed out on the floor, totally hammered.”
Connor looked around, noticing several empty liquor bottles. “I was aware the Lieutenant was a drinker, but I didn’t expect this.”
You laughed, sorting through the laundry basket until you retrieved some clean clothes for Hank. “He’s in the bathroom now, if you can figure out a way to sober him up, then he’s all yours,” You said, holding out the clothes to him. “He has some shirts in his closet as well.”
Connor looked down at the clothes before slowly taking them. “Thank you,” He paused, “It just occurred to me that I don’t know your name.”
“I’m (Y/n) (L/n),” You introduced, holding out your hand to him. “It’s nice to finally meet you.”
He adjusted the piles of clothes so he could shake your hand. “Finally?”
“Like I said, Hank complains about you almost every time I come over. Rattling on about how you follow him too much and the like.”
Connor looked down at the floor. “Oh.”
You smiled, giving him a small pat on the shoulder. “Don’t worry, Hank only really picks on the people he likes.”
Connor’s gaze met yours. “Hank must like a lot of people then.”
That got a real chuckle from you. “Nevermind that, you go take care of him and I’ll clean up the mess in here.”
Connor watched you walk away, a handful of questions lingering in the back of his mind before entering the bathroom.
It didn’t take very long for a muffled yell to emerge from inside.
“(Y/n)! How could you let this plastic fucker waltz right into my damn house!”
You snickered, feeling like it was decent payback for having to sift through his half-empty beer bottles and lord-only-knows-how-old takeaway boxes.
Connor entered the kitchen again moments later, poking around a few things before you noticed him.
“How’s our Lieutenant?”
“I shoved him under some cold water to sober him up, he’s getting dressed now.”
“So that’s what all the yelling was about,” You smiled, tying off the full trash bag before looking back at the window. “I don’t know what I’m going to do about this.”
“I apologize for breaking the window, at the time, it seemed like the only way to enter the home.”
“Eh, don’t worry about it,” You exhaled before looking around for a dustpan, of course, cleaning supplies were rare sightings in the Anderson house. “Guess I’ll have to make do.”
You knelt onto the floor, about to reach out to pick up the larger sections of glass before Connor’s hand stopped you.
You looked up and saw him kneeling in front of you, his hand wrapped firmly around your wrist. His gaze met yours and you raised a brow in question.
Software Instability
“Don’t do that, you could hurt yourself on the jagged edges,” Connor slowly released you. “I’ll take care of it.”
You silently watched him begin to pick up the glass, still slightly taken back by the series of events. “Here, at least let me give you something to put the pieces on.”
After grabbing a plate from one of the cabinets, you let him gather the glass while you finished cleaning off the table.
You noticed that Cole’s picture had been turned over and when you saw Hank enter the room, you quickly flipped it back. Knowing that was still a fresh wound for him.
“Well don’t you look dashing,” You remarked with a mischievous smile, noticing the way the old man slightly wobbled.
Hank grumbled and went to tell you off, but the sight of you holding out two Tylenol pills and a bottle of water shut him up pretty quick.
“Sumo, be a good dog for (Y/n),” He said to the dog before turning to you. “I won’t be too long, just make sure the house doesn’t burn down.”
You pressed your pointer and middle finger together and gave him a mock salute. “Whatever you say, boss.”
Hank smiled ever so slightly before he turned to Connor and huffed. “We’s better get a move on.”
Connor turned to you before he reached the door. “It was nice meeting you, (Y/n).”
You grinned. “You too, Connor. Make sure he doesn’t have too much fun.”
He nodded. “He’ll come back in one piece, I promise.”
You heard the car alarm go off outside, followed by a stream of loud curses, and you figured Hank probably smacked right into the car. “Good luck with that.”
You watched Connor close the door behind him, a smile forming on your face as Sumo nuzzled against your leg. You wondered what Hank had been fussing about, the android detective didn’t seem that bad at all.
This is so funny to me? I have never heard anyone call him Coco I’m dead lmao. Human reader distracts a stubborn guard so that Hank and Connor can find some evidence.
“You really want a piece of plastic ruining the crime scene, sweetheart?”
You could feel yourself rolling your eyes mentally, and it takes all of your will power to stop yourself from doing it physically as well. You force a smile at the man and glance at Hank wondering how he’d respond, but he looks like he’s ready to just up and leave──he’s still a bit hungover sadly.
Connor merely blinks at the insult, “My mission is to examine the crime scene not──”
“I didn’t ask, so shut it.” The android shuts his mouth promptly before looking at you in confusion, head tilting to one side. He’d become accustomed to the hostility of humans, especially those in law enforcement, but that didn’t mean he understood why it had to be that way.
“You know what, this is above my pay-grade──let’s get outta here.” Hank is already walking away, hands shoved into his pocket as he grumbles angrily about how much time they’ve wasted. Connor furrows his brows as he follows after him like a lost puppy, “But lieutenant──the deviant!” “Shut it Connor!”
A frown makes its way to your face as you watch them. Why should you three leave if you were just doing your jobs──android present or not. But you then realize the guard is too preoccupied checking out your ass so he’s completely unaware of the other two getting further away. And then you get a bright idea.
“We’re just doing our jobs, let us in alright?” The guard opens his mouth to make a snide remark before pausing as he feels your fingers barely brush the side of his arm. His gaze returns to your face as you look up at him with sparkling doe eyes.
And then Hank finally notices that you weren’t following them. “(Y/N), what are you──?” he freezes in place immediately, putting one arm out to stop Connor. The android stares at him in bewilderment before he also catches sight of the unexpected scene. The guard and you are standing unnecessarily close (he would know considering the number of times you’ve mentioned personal space) and his brows furrow when he sees the man lean in closer as you whisper something to him.
Connor finds his feet moving on their own, wanting to pull you away from the man, but Hank yanks on his arm and pulls him away. “The hell are you doin’? Crime scene’s this way!” he grumbles irritably as he ushers the android into the building.
“But (y/n)──?”
“She’s just buying time, just do your detective shit already!”
As he’s pulled away, the android continues to look in your direction, a strange and almost possessive feeling both mind and body. He wants nothing more than to snatch you away and keep you as far from that man as possible. If anything, he should be in his place…and the android cannot comprehend why?
Eventually, he can no longer see the two of you and he almost grudgingly follows the Lieutenant, eyes flitting to the floor then back up. He had a job to do──enough nonsense.
“Lieutenant, shouldn’t (y/n) be with us?” He asks quicker than his brain can process.
Hank raises a brow at the question and shrugs, “She’ll be fine. Just find what we need so we can get the hell outta here.”
“But what if the guard decides to harm her?”
“She’s a police officer, she knows how to handle herself.”
“But if she lets her guard down, he could──”
“Relax Connor, she’ll be fine.”
“But what if──”
“Just find the damn evidence!”
“Sorry Lieutenant.”
And they’re out within 10 minutes. The android is all too eager to exit the premise, finding himself awfully worried about your safety──that’s what he tells himself. Hank is all but impressed, considering it was the quickest he’d ever seen the bot move. He had his suspicions.
You and the guard are still outside, now leaning against the wall making needless chatter. You’re so bored out of your mind that you almost considered walking away, but whatever had to be done. You could feel the man’s hot breath just above your ear and you did your best not to physically cringe.
Your prayers are answered abruptly as Connor suddenly comes marching up to you and taking your hand into his without explanation. He looks the guard in the eye and says a quick, “Good day,” before tugging you away with him over towards Hank. The man just stands there flabbergasted as you’re whisked away and the three of you are already in the car and driving away.
In the backseat, Connor stares at the back of your head blankly, still processing the irritable feeling in his chest. Hank proceeds to share what he’s learned with you and you listen as if nothing’s happened. Was he the only one bothered by what he saw earlier? As the two of you talk, the android uncharacteristically cuts in.
“(Y/N)? Are you alright?” He sounds legitimately worried. You turn in your seat to get a look at him, “Yeah? Why wouldn’t I be?”
He pauses, eyes flitting across your face and you notice his LED is blinking yellow. You glance at Hank, whose pretending he doesn’t hear this conversation as he drives. “Did something happen inside?” you ask suspiciously, eyeballing the Lieutenant who still pretends he hasn’t a clue what’s going on.
Connor doesn’t speak for a moment, trying to find the proper words to express his…distaste for using such tactics──that she had to use such tactics. His mouth gapes open like a fish as he’s unable to find said words and he can only blink as he stares at you in his own confusion.
“You okay Connor?”
He looks down for a moment, lost in thought yet again, before looking you in the eye with furrowed brows. “No…I think I was…jealous?”
Hank snorts loudly beside you as he does a terrible job of hiding his amused snickers, and you can only stare back at him blankly as the information processes.
Request: “.. some fluff. I’d like some (gay: X male reader. That quality gay stuff™) of Conner just trying to cuddle his boyfriend for the first time.”
Sorry if it is short. Didn’t get my coffee this morning
Feeling emotion as an Android was very strange. Trying to express them was even more so.
But he tried when it came to [M/N].
Connor was happy to learn from him. When Connor fell in love with [M/N] it was an all new experience. However human interaction was hard to understand. It wasn’t in his coding. The simple and gentle touches were much different from the fights he’s had.
“Hey, it’s good to have you home”
Stepping through the front door, he was greeted by a [H/C] man. Sitting on the couch watching his curved flat screen. He seemed to have takeout, with a quick scan Connor sees it’s from a local Chinese restaurant.
The droid smiled at the young man, walking over he gave him a chaste hello kiss. He took a seat on the edge of the couch. Curious and by his coding, analyzing the movie was an old one.
Knowing there’s a gaze on his head, he turned to see the glowing [E/C] ords of his lover. A hand was placed on his cheek. Feeling his thumb run down to stop at his bottom lip. With a smirk, his other hand was on the base of Connor’s neck. Both smoothed down to his shoulders and began to pull him close.
“Lay with me, won’t you?”
Still not used to these feels, Connor was more or less of a stuttering mess.
“[M/N] I I never,” He already had him half way laying on the cushions. [M/N] digits were sifting themselves in his synthetic locks. He already had the the droid pushed up against the backing, and his head rested on a pillow leaning on the armrest.
“I only want to cuddle Connor, for now atleast”
With a content smile, [M/N] made himself comfortable on Connor’s chest. He tucked his head in the crook of his neck and held on tight to his torso. Connor has never been so confused and so delighted at the same time. Not even when they shared their fist kiss.
So there Connor was, on the couch with his lover falling to sleep and his hands and arms are just hovering around him. He suppose, with how they were, it was similar to hugging but just continuous. And laying down. Slowly he lowered his arm and wrap them around [M/N]. He guessed he was doing something right as his companion snuggled a little closer. Not sure how.
It was awkward in every way possible for him, but he was enjoying it. He became to play with his [H/C] strands, occupying himself as he could not sleep as his lover did. He felt the light kisses on his neck as he began to relax more in the cuddling.
He never knew of such an activity before this, but damn. He could get used to it.

Drabble or One-shot: Drabble.
A/n:I love this adorable man, so damn cute so I then thought, what the hell…I’m gonna give you guys some good stuff.
Sticking out your tongue you just glared at the robot that seemed to be oblivious to the whole situation. You wanted to kiss him but he just seemed content to holding your hand while watching the ducks swim around in the pond. You cared deeply for Connor, better than any human boyfriend you ever had, he was so kind and did his best to make you happy though it was rough some times since he tended to be awkward but that just added to why cared about him. You really had to thank Hank for even setting you both up.
It seemed that Connor spotted a picture of you on the wall of the detectives house and well he couldn’t take his eyes off of you. The man explained to the android that you were like another child to him and it was true, the man was like a second father. With your father being close to him, Hank had to take you in after the death of him. Once you were back in Detroit, Hank felt like Connor could do a better job of taking care of you than he could and boy was he right about that feeling.
And now a year later you were in a relationship with the android, though he was doing his best to understand, Hank seemed to spot that Connor seemed happier, brighter but right now that didn’t matter at the moment, what matter was that you wanted to kiss your robot boyfriend.
Blinking a few times Connor turned his attention to you then smiled though it faltered for a moment.
“You are upset? I am sorry I did not.”
“No no Connor it’s not that…I just want a kiss.” Pouting again he felt some pressure on your lips.
“Is that better?”
Sighing you then smiled standing up from the park bench as the android followed you though you just let out a chuckle standing on your tip toes. “Can I have one more?”
Grinning up at him you noticed a smile pulling at the edge of his lips as he bent over placing another kiss on your lips.
“Much better.”
Licking you lips, Connor returned to his full height fixing his tie rather pleased with your answer Connor weaved his fingers through yours you both continued you walk enjoying the rest of the day.

All you wanted was a peaceful morning tea. A quiet morning tea. Where you could drink some coffee, eat a muffin and relax in the breakroom. You’d just finished with an investigation and were ready for the break which you felt you so honestly deserved. Of course, fate wasn’t about to let it be that way.
When Gavin and his friend had walked in you’d barely noticed him. Running on no sleep after staying up all night reading his idiot comments in the case report had left you in a bad mood, and you wanted nothing more than to keep your distance from the slimy excuse for a person. He’d opted for one side of the breakroom, and he’d opted for the other. That was fine by your book. The less time you had to spend staring at his stupid face was time well spent.
It looked like Gavin was set on wasting everyone’s time this morning.
You hadn’t really paid attention to the android when it walked in, too busy trying to substitute what warmth your drink was giving you in turn of the bed you wished you were curled up in. You’d heard about him. He was Connor, he was working with Hank, he wasn’t your problem.
Gavin seemed hellbent on changing that.
“Get me a coffee.” Was the first thing you registered, turning just in time to see his fingers prod against Connor’s chest. You could’ve sworn you’d seen him flinch, a twitch of the lips, but when you blink his face is expressionless again. You really were too tired for this.
“Gavin!” You shout from your table, drawing the attention of all 3 people in the room. You didn’t want to start a conflict, but you were not about to let Gavin ruin anything else today. Pursuing your lips, fueled by the anger from his shitty report, you spoke in a voice soaked with irritation.
“You’re like 38 years old. Do you not know how to make one yourself?” Gavin most certainly was not that old, and you most certainly knew that. And while that normally would have been enough incitement for him to change targets, he seemed intent on bullying one android today.
“Stay out of this,” He spits as he speaks and it’s disgusting, you can feel your stomach feeling as he pokes another finger to Connors’ chest, with more force this time.
“You- get me a fucking coffee,” Gavin says with all the charisma of a dead, bloated fish. You’re stepping up from your chair, ready to snap at him when Connor brushes down his shirt, holding the detective in a cold, dismissive stare.
“I’m sorry, I only take orders from Lieutenant Anderson.” He says in a voice that’s nearly smug. You can’t help but smile, you didn’t know androids could be programmed like this. And evidently, neither did Gavin as his lips curled into a snarl, a bitter laugh leaving his lips.
“Oh? Is that right?” You’re ready for Gavin to make some dumb quip, but not ready for what happens next. His fingers curl into a fist, and before you can shout a warning to Connor, he’d fired off his first and only punch, bringing the android to his knees.
The sound is more sickening to you than when a human is punched. A thud of a fist on plastic, and a whirr of motors that put your hairs on end. Especially in tandem with the way he was clutching his stomach. Maybe it was the fact that you knew he could not fight back that made you so ill.
He couldn’t fight back.
But you could.
“Asshole!” The scream that left you was raw, made of unbridled anger as you launched yourself forward, your feet moving a threaten pace across the hard floor of the kitchen. There’s a flash of fear in Gavin’s eyes as you grab the collar of his shirt.
“I told you to-” Your hands plant themselves on his chest, shoving him backwards violently, into a pillar. His friend, still in their seat seemed unsure of whether to flee. Your venom filled voice seemed to solidify that decision.
“Fuck do you want me to do? Sit here and pretend you aren’t trying to pick a fight for the sake of it? Why are you so angry? Did your mom lock up your Xbox when you got home? Did you lose some good boy points?” As you spat poisonous words, Gavin struggled to his feet, an anger of his own flashing in his eyes.
“I don’t know what the fuck you think you’re doing-” He growled, clenching his fists again, but again, you give him no chance to speak as you shove him against the pillar, keeping him there with one hand on his collarbone.
“And I don’t know how you’ve got through life this far without getting stabbed in the neck but I am willing to break that record right now if you don’t back. The fuck. Off.” With each word, your grip tightened, your tone a dangerous whisper on the wind. But he could hear you, you could tell by
“You wouldn’t.” He managed to say, not sounding even slightly confident in his words. Your jaw clenched.
“I’d do it in a heartbeat, Gavin. It would be the highlight of my entire fucking life.” He stays quiet. From fear or from the fact that you were crushing his windpipe. You took it as answer enough, letting him go as you made quick progress back to your table to fetch your papers.
“Take this while you’re at it.” You say, turning with a vicious smile to see him rubbing his throat. Walking back with long strides, you shove it into his chest, raising your voice.
“This report is as barren and meaningless as your sex-life. I didn’t understand a single point you were trying to make. Learn how to do your job, and stop picking on others cos you’re insecure about the size of your dick.”
“You-!” There’s a resurgence of rage that you quickly push away as you physically push him towards the bullpen and his friend, and as far away from you as possible. He seems to hesitate for a moment. Like he was actually contemplating trying to start something before his sense comes back to him.
The moment he’s gone it’s like someone’s lifted a foot off your chest. The stress from before seems gone you don’t need to worry about work. You don’t need to worry about Gavin. It’s just you, the break room and your breakfast.
You felt a tap on your shoulder and rescinded your last statement. You, the break room, your breakfast and an android.
You turn around, finding yourself face to face with a crisp white dress shirt, black tie and ironed jacket. You have to tilt your head up to meet his eyes. Fucking hell, he was tall.
“Uh…” You’re not quite sure what to say. What do you say to a person who just witnessed you threatening a coworker? Nothing was the answer, as your eyes looked at his face, trying to suss out just one emotion. But all you find are perfect brows, clear skin and a pair of eyes far too warm to be human. You’re stunned into silence before he opens his mouth to speak.
“Hello. I’m Connor.” You’re sure from the times you’d overheard him introduce himself that he always took longer, but that thought melts away when you see the soft smile on his face.
“H-Hi, I’m Detective Y/N.” You stutter, feeling your heart clench as he extends a hand to take yours, shaking it gently. All you can concentrate on is how warm it feels.
“Sorry about Reed, a-and my behaviour.” You cringe internally. Of course, this is the first impression you gave the hot android. Of course. He takes away his hand you feel dissatisfied with the sudden cold.
“I antagonized him, you simply reacted,” He said, placing his hands behind his back before he paused.
“Not… many humans I know would go such lengths for a machine. So I am curious…"He trails off, and you can feel an acute heat rising in your cheeks, and your sweat on your palms.
“Ah, gotta take any chance to beat up Gavin. Y’know?” You say with a weak half-laugh. That was half true, you supposed. You didn’t want to have to explain the disgust in your stomach at Gavin’s violence, but with the way his eyes nearly made Connor look disappointed, you jumped at the chance to make this stranger happy.
“Also I- You don’t deserve to be treated like that. Especially not here. It was… distressing to me.” You explained, avoiding his gaze, missing the flickering yellow LED on the side of his head, and the subsequent look he gave. No, you only heard Connor clear his throat.
“I… understand.” He said with a tilted head, and you got the feeling he didn’t understand at all. Standing in heavy silence you felt the heat spread uncomfortably from your cheeks to your body, your eyes flickering to your abandoned breakfast, before going back to Connor’s handsome face.
“I should go talk with Lieutenant Anderson.” He says out of the blue, taking a step to the open archway. You notice him falter a moment, turning his head where you finally caught the flickering LED on the side of his head.
“It was… It was nice meeting you.” He said with the hint of a smile, before ducking his way through the arch, walking towards the bullpen. Leaving you exactly how you’d wanted to be 20 minutes earlier. Alone.
The exhaustion you’d been feeling before began to sink back into your bones. Thoughts of how exactly you’d be punished by Captain Fowler flooded your mind as you went to sit back down with your food, though not a single emotion you felt was tinged with regret.
Giddiness. Something you hadn’t felt since you were in high school, with a crush on a cute boy in your English class. It didn’t make up for energy lost, no, but it did make your muffin a little more sweet, and your coffee just a little bit warmer. And the image of Connor’s pretty face in your mind just a tad clearer. A smile played its way onto your lips.
No, you didn’t regret any of what just happened. And you were a 100% sure you never would.

There’s magic in a song. In its words, in its meanings. Music- of any form has power over people and android alike to change thoughts and instil emotions for things you haven’t felt in years. It was viable during the peace rally where androids finally earned their independence, visible each day when a smile was pulled upon someone’s face by the mere utterance of a tune. Vocals, melody, each kind had a wonderful cadence and tune with which every person on the planet can find enjoyment in.
Gavin wasn’t feeling so blessed by your singing at this moment.
In Hanks opinion, it was his fault. He knew that now Connor was a full-time detective that he would have HR on his side were Gavin to try to start any little ‘arguments’. And he also knew that there was another spirit of vengeance, working in the office alongside HR as an agent of chaos, preventing workplace abuse with a twist.
Yeah, Hank usually hated night shift. But with a show like this, how could he complain tonight?
“So needless to say-” You yelled the second verse to AHA’s Take On Me with a passion Hank himself had not seen in years. Never before had he heard the song sing in such high pitched, hellish tones. And neither had Gavin he supposed, judging by the pained expression on the detectives face as you screeched into the near empty police station, music playing faintly from your terminal.
“So needless to say! Of odds and ends! But that’s me stumbling away! Slowly learning that life is ok!” You spun in your wheely chair, arms high above as you fought back laughter. Gavin was mere centimetres away, trying and failing to push you away from him with a desperation only men close to death had.
Hank himself felt pretty great, with his noise-cancelling headphones.
“WOULD YOU FUCKING STOP?” Gavin screamed with his hands fixed over his ears. But it was too late. It was nearly 3 am, you’d had a good 5 cups of coffee, and were intent on getting revenge for your wronged friend.
“Say after me-” You continued, fighting back Gavin’s hands with vicious slaps. Just as Hank felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned but had a good idea of who it was as his eyes met with a dark brown, holding no emotion other than concern
“What is Detective Y/L/N doing?” Connor asked as he side-eyed your spinning form, waving a quick hello with a bright smile as you loved to the next and final line for the chorus.
“It’s no better to be safe than sorry!”
Hank thought for a moment on how best to word that Gavin was going through this auditory hellscape because of Connor. In a way.
“You remember how Gavin broke your terminal last week?” He asked, and Connor nodded with a creased brow. Hank lifted a hand and waved it your way.
“Well, there’s your angel of vengeance.” He said, going to put the noise cancelling headphones on.
“Take on me! Take on me!” You screamed as Hank raised us to voice a little, pointing to his ears.
“You might wanna turn off your hearing!” He says as Connor looked upon the trainwreck with the light amusement only one uninvolved could take.
“Take me on! Take on me!” You moved closer to his ear and Gavin began to struggle to grab his things and put them in his bag.
“STOP!” Gavin yelled, again to no avail. Hank wished he had popcorn.
“I’ll be gone.” You sucked in a deep breath as Detective Reed bolted up from his seat, unable to get out of the room as you begun your final banshee screech.
“In a day or TWOOOOOO!” And just like that, Gavin was gone. In under 3 minutes, you had achieved what most in the precinct had only dreamed of.
Hank would have enjoyed it more had the situation not now made his wallet all the lighter.
“Took less than 10 minutes! 20 fuckin dollars Anderson!” You said in a hoarse voice, rolling over in your chair with your hand out as Hank rolled his eyes and fished out the money. Connor, who had apparently turned his hearing back on looked at you with a terrified awe.
“That was… quite the performance.” He said as you offered a wide grin.
“5 years of choir, baby! I got some lungs!” You beamed, rolling backwards in your chair as you pocketed the money, going on a trajectory towards Gavin’s desk.
“Let’s fuck with his files. Bet there’s some weird porn.” You beamed like an imp, already logging into his account as Hank stood up with a sigh, walking over to where you were, the promise of blackmail material an enticing prospect. This was shaping up to be an interesting night shift.
