When you’d been dropped at his feet, he was skeptical. The knight had been dying — a process he was happy to help along, once he’d heard what he had to say — when he begged for him to protect you, leaving you swaddled at his clawed feet.
Typically people had a strong distaste for dragons who kept princesses, but apparently the hostile takeover of your kingdom had caused this to be an exception. Shrinking down into his humanoid form, he plopped down beside you, staring with ethereal blue eyes. The two horns that curled from his head didn’t frighten you; in fact, you seemed most interested in them as he leaned down to examine you.
Small, pudgy hands reached for him, and he couldn’t help but smirk. You were a cute little thing, despite being all fleshy and needy. Carefully, he lifted you up from the stone ground, warmed by several blue fires he’d started when the knight arrived, and held you to him. Almost immediately, your little hands grasped and pulled on one of his horns, earning nothing but an annoyed huff as he attempted to gently shake you away. It made you laugh; his heart melted.
“… Fine. I’ll keep you.” Dabi sighed, and that was how the two of you began.
I liked pickin out the cakes can’t ya tell – Kazoo
Shinsou
Shinsou would be pleasantly surprised that you even remembered his birthday
It’s rare for people to go out of their way to do things for him so the sentiment itself is enough to make him smile
He really loves sweets and isn’t a very materialistic person so cake is literally the perfect gift
His cake would be a chiffon cake with strawberries and whipped icing
He’d thank you by taking some icing off the top and dabbing it onto your nose before kissing it off
Dabi
“You shouldn’t have.”
“Aw it was no problem-”
“No, you really shouldn’t have”
Dabi doesn’t celebrate his birthday mainly because he thinks celebrating someone for simply existing is really childish
For awhile he didn’t even tell you when his birthday was because he knew you’d want to do something for him no matter what
The cake would be what you think he would like most so you’d make him a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting
Even if you tried to guilt trip him by saying how much work went into making it he would outright refuse to eat it
If you just throw the cake away Dabi will most likely apologize for not wanting to celebrate but will remind you that he told you not to get him anything
If you save the cake you’ll definitely find Dabi shoveling down a piece of it in the wee hours of the morning
Todoroki
Like Dabi, he never really celebrated his birthday either because his father never let him after his mother was out of the picture
Your cake to him would be the first birthday cake he’d gotten in a long time
It’d be a marble cake with red frosting decorating one side and white decorating the other
“It’s half and half like you!”
He’d smile and ask for one of the white pieces (of course)
Bakugou
“You know just how I like it (Y/n)!”
“Well I did make it just for you~”
His birthday is his favorite holiday because it’s a whole day celebrating him
Your attention that day is his favorite gift but the cake is definitely a close second
He’d eye up his molten chocolate cake as you brought it to him like he eyes you up
The cake would practically be gone before you even finished singing happy birthday to him
He’d thank you buy making you kiss him with chocolate all over his lips
Mirio
“A cake!? (Y/n), that’s so thoughtful!”
He’d lift you into a hug with those big strong arms of his and shake your around
“Mirio, the cake! you’re gonna make me drop it!”
His cake would be a lemon meringue cheesecake with extra mousse on the side
Once you give him a slice he won’t stop telling you how much it means to him
You’d have to actually feed him to get him to stop thanking you and actually take a bite
Mirio would tell you it’ the best thing he’s ever tasted but he also says that about everything you cook for him
Tamaki
As soon as you present the cake to him he’d turn away bashfully
“I’m sorry (Y/n), I didn’t get you anything…”
“It’s your birthday dumdum not mine!”
His cake would be an angel food cake with yellow frosting to make it look like a sun
“Now you can REALLY be a suneater”
He’d blush and roll his eyes at your pun and mutter out an I love you before taking a piece
Happy Halloween!! wanted to do a quick piece after ALL THAT WORK that was Labyrinth. it’s pretty messy but that’s ok. I have to go do my makeup before work now. T_T
Summary: Dabi contemplates your relationship during sex.
Dabi knew he shouldn’t be so rough with you. He knew it, and he couldn’t resist anyway. You were bleary eyed and soft — pliable. His fingers curled around your throat as he kissed you roughly, feeling you squirm anxiously beneath him. You trusted him completely — so sure he wouldn’t really hurt you — and it drove him completely mad.
He couldn’t stand it. He couldn’t stand that you were right. Pulling away, he licked his lips, enjoying the bruising of your lips. Squeezing, he watched your eyes widen slightly, loosely gripping his wrist as your oxygen cut off, but not thrashing. Just staring up at him. Trusting him.
Humans were such fragile creatures; he was a monster. He should have just crushed your windpipe and been done with you weeks ago. But you were so warm. So kind and understanding and inviting — everything he’d never had from another person. You gave it without expecting anything in return, and he couldn’t understand.
Finally, you began to grip his wrist a little tighter, clearly trying not to trash beneath him but unable to fight your body’s natural response. He loosened his grip and leaned in again as you gasped for air, this time hiding his face against your throat. Listening to your heartbeat, fluttering nervously as he pressed soft kisses to your throat, made him smirk. He couldn’t help but love you.
63. “I’m the tall dark stranger your parents warned you about.”
68. “There will be a lot of screaming tonight.”
“We should do a couples costume.” The words were bouncing around in his head — haunting him — as he stared at himself in the mirror. He should have known better than to let you decide on his costume, even if you did look adorable in your skimpy angel getup.
The cartoonish horns and tail you’d forced him into weren’t that bad. It was the red getup you’d put him in. Given, it was almost identical to something he would normally wear — in fact he was almost positive you’d just went out and bought an exact copy of his black jacket — but it was a horrendously bright red, and he really hated it.
Not that he would ever say that to you; especially when you were bouncing on the balls of your feet behind him in the mirror, looking entirely to excited about your work. Dabi liked to think he wasn’t a killjoy, even if he was a few centuries too old for Halloween.
“Not bad, sunshine.” He smirked when your face lit up, clearly overjoyed with his minuscule praise. Dabi wasn’t sure why exactly you doted on him so much; by human standards he was pretty hard to look at.
