Not going to lie, the first time I read this entry I thought that by “chick magnets” you meant chocobos. I really don’t know what I was thinking, maybe about baby Prompto, but I was very confused as I read through all of this the first time because I read “chick magnets” and I was like “baby chocobos”.
My first confusion was “wait, no, I don’t- how…how are cute kids- how do they attract baby chocobos? I don’t understand…” and I kept reading and it was only after I re read it that I was like “OH NO WAIT, HUMAN CHICKS, AHAHAHAHAHA!”

I imagine Cor holding his hand in every moment, or carrying him in arms at times (it’s easier, because Cor is very tall and Prommy is tiny, so having his hand held is a bit awkward for both), and Prom being a happy ball of sunshine looking at everything with his huge adorable eyes, poiting, pulling from his hand or pants or bouncing in his arms and telling him where to go or asking him endless questions.

I love the idea of Cor being an awkward, super awkward and shy potato when it comes to social interaction, especially with people he doesn’t know. So I see him awkwardly and very nervously standing there while people come to say hi to Prompto. Happy child Prom says hi back, giggles a bit when people make something funny, gets excited and everything; Cor stands there not knowing what to do with his hands omg or where to look or how to say Hi without sounding stupid.
But the worst cases are when it’s women.
They’re standing there, a woman comes close “Hi! Can I say hello to your kid?” like usual, they go down on ankles or bend down to say hi to Prommy, Prommy is at first a little shy but easily gets comfy in their presence, he plays, says Hi, giggles a bit, tells name and age, lets them poke his nose or pinch his cheek, but suddenly they look up and “What is your name? :)”

Cor having microwaved dinners and Cup Noodles actually could work for canon, though, and it hadn’t crossed my head before? I mean, he’s so strong and stays so damn… *fans self* *cough* uhm, healthy even at 55, so I assume he must have a very good diet.
But the microwaved dinners and Cup Noodles? I mean, he didn’t bat an eye or mentioned a single thing or showed himself against the idea of noodles during Episode Gladio. He knew they were off for a couple days, knew Gladio was up for physical and spiritual challenges, and he didn’t bring other food…just Cup Noodles.
And it sort of feels like a possible thing! Cor, with no other family, a grown man with no time? Well, microwaved food is okay. He doesn’t die, he has something in the stomach, and it’s quick and simple. Not to mention that…he…he really isn’t the best cook on Eos. So microwaved food that is!
….until the day he adopts sweet little Prommy, of course.
I really love this concept, because this is another scenario that’s up for being hilarious, but is actually super pure and sweet if you look at it from that POV. Cor, that has spent years, maybe most of his life, eating microwaved food because it’s simple and quick and he hates cooking…changing that, for his baby.
Do you know how damn difficult change is? Humans aren’t used to change, it’s horrible. But Cor gives up something that goes beyond a habit and is actually an entire lifestyle, just for his son.

Cor’s so into his stuff and thoughts that even though he sees the lollipop later he just doesn’t process that he never bought that to his son.

And Prompto…he’s…he’s a good boy…Prompto’s the kindest and sweetest little ray of sunshine and he just…he can’t say no to papa 😦

Cor first got from a little disposable camera because Prom was always borrowing his phone to take pictures (lord knows he couldn’t figure out the camera on that thing) and Prom was so! happy! like the ‘we’re going to the chocobo farm today’ level of happy, and he took so many pictures, Cor could see how happy he was and tacking them all over his wall! his next birthday Cor got him a real camera a few years later, for Prom’s 13th he got a professional camera Cor saw him staring at the shop window

I love love love love LOVE L O V E that Cor attends cooking classes SPECIFICALLY for Prommy. Cor wasn’t only single dad, baby also arrived unexpectedly, so he was taken entirely off guard about all this. He wasn’t given time to get physically or mentally prepared in any way for a son, so I imagine he must have tried his absolute best and more when he got Prommy. Cor fears to mess up, and tries extra hard on being a good dad, so he goes distances just to achieve that.
An example, cooking lessons

I imagine Cor feeding baby Prom, then lost in his train of thoughts he realizes that Prommy’s not going to eat baby food forever and that one day Cor needs to cook for him. And then he remembers about the one time he poisoned himself with orange juice and coffee and when the toaster almost set itself on fire because he put an egg in it, and he realizes it.

“Astrals BLESS, how LONG did it take you to notice!?”
So Cor thinks about it and realizes that he’s an IDIOT of a cook, and that cannot be! He has a son who will eventually grow up and leave baby food, and who will need proper, real food! And what if Cor is not prepared for that? What if he has poor Prommy starving to death? Worse, what if Cor tries cooking for him and poisons him by accident because he’s still lost in the kitchen!?!?!
