You met them when you accidentally wandered through a fairy circle of mushrooms while taking a morning stroll through the woods. You emerged into a breathtaking realm where every sight and sound seemed more vibrant than those found in your world.
They had rushed into the clearing with a group of knights, all of them plastered in golden armor. They stopped you, demanded to know who you were and why you were tresspassing. The only thing you could think about was how strikingly gorgeous they were, easily the most beautiful person you’d ever seen.
After explaining the mix-up, they apologized for their brashness and took you to a castle carved into a towering golden cliffside with natural vines of purple and yellow flowers coiling about every arch and wall.
After a wonderful meal and pleasent talks, this dazzling individual took you back to the circle you had fallen through. They planted a tender kiss upon your hand and told you that you were welcome back anytime, leaving your cheeks to grow hot.
You do visit regularly and they are always waiting for you, greeting you with a crown of purple and yellow flowers. One day they take your hand into theirs and you feel your heart skip a beat. Their skin is flawless and smooth and almost seems to radiate a soft light.
You delight in watching them perform complex spells and incantations that create beautiful showers of light and contort their body into different forms at will. By experimenting with them, you find that you aren’t bad at crafting magical potions. Your partner looks on in disbelief and comments that potion making was always their worst subject.
The two of you explore the emerald green forests and rolling hilltops that surround the castle, their fingers almost always clasped around yours. You see rainbow tinted waterfalls that cascade onto silver rocks, trees that stretch so high you can’t even see their tops, and mesmerizing creatures that approach you with a sense of timid curiosity.
All the while they are there, smiling as you take in the wonder of their world. They ask to see your world and you hesitate. How would someone so spectacular and from such an amazing place react to your home?
You’re surprised, yet giddy, when they are absolutely enthralled by what they find on the other side of the circle. They are especially perplexed and enchanted by the television and computer. You joking call them a tech nerd, and they proudly take the title for themselves.
That evening you return to the fairy circle and are surprised to find a small crowd of the castles occupants waiting for you when you step through. Though you are confused, your partner takes both of your hands into theirs and tells you that they are making your relationship official and that the whole kingdom will recognize the love you share.
You are speechless as they place a silver crown upon your head and then kiss you in front of the enamored crowd of onlookers. You’re still not sure why someone so perfect would pick you, but you wouldn’t have it any other way.
