Prompt:
Hello! I was wondering if you can do a thingy where Charles takes the students
to a zoo and the reader, with a mermaid mutation, works at the aquarium and is
a mermaid, like the children want pictures and such. And the reader just shows
a lot of interest in Kurt and will do things like splash him or in pictures
make it look like she is kissing his cheek?
Note:
Awwwwwwwww this is hella cute!!
Warnings:
None?
“Charles, tell me again why we’re at the
zoo,” Raven said. “Not to complain, the kids need to get out of the house every
once in a while, but-”
“We’re here to recruit,” Charles explained.
“A young mutant has been working here for quite some time and her employers
sent a letter to the school saying that she wants to enroll. So I decided, why
not bring her an acceptance letter in person and make a field trip out of it?”
“Ah,” Raven nodded, watching the kids run
through the rest of the zoo with Hank. She, Charles, and the X-Men went
straight to the aquarium to see her in action. They took the stairs to the
lower level where kids could watch her from the other side of the glass. There
was a sign that read ‘pictures welcome!’
“So what’s her mutation? Where is she?” asked
Scott, looking around at the employees standing around dressed in blue
t-shirts.
You noticed the new group by one of your
windows and swam over, waving and smiling.
“That’s her,” Charles pointed to you. You
looked them over and gasped softly in realization. These were the X-Men. They
were here. They were here to see you.
“She’s a mermaid,” Kurt gasped, wide-eyed. He
walked closer, watching you in awe. You were even more beautiful than the
fairytales had said. Your tail was long and slender, moving beneath you
fluidly. Your scales seemed to sparkle like a thousand diamonds. Long tresses
of your hair floated around your head as if blown by the breeze.
“Kurt, stand up against the glass. I’ll get a
picture,” Charles told him, pulling out a camera. Kurt nodded and turned
around, smiling brightly. You swam up to the glass and turned your head,
puckering your lips so it would look like you were kissing him on the cheek.
There was a bright flash, and the camera spit out a picture. Charles shook it
as it developed before handing it to the blue boy. He smiled, blushing a darker
blue.
“Raven, can we go to the rest of the zoo?”
Peter asked. “I’m a legal adult. I can chaperone myself.”
“Go ahead,” she nodded. “Charles and I will
stay here.”
“C-could I stay too?” Kurt asked. Jean smiled
before projecting a thought into your mind.
That’s
Kurt. He totally likes you. It’s cute. she told you. You blushed, smiling and
giggling.
Well,
I totally feel the same. He’s a cutie. You replied.
I’m
Jean Grey.
(Y/N)
(L/N). You introduced.
“Kurt, this is (Y/N),” Jean grabbed his
shoulders and gently nudged him towards the glass. “I’m guessing she won’t be
able to hear you, but yeah. I’m going with the others.”
See
you in a few hours. Jean winked. You waved as she left with the others,
leaving only Charles, Raven, and Kurt behind. Charles explained to you why they
were there and that they had arranged to meet with you after the zoo officially
closed for the night.
Before they left the aquarium, Kurt pressed a
three-fingered hand to the glass. You pressed yours to the other side, smiling
and blowing him a kiss. He blushed, tail swishing gently behind him as he
caught the kiss with his free hand.
“You like her, huh?” Raven teased, smiling as
she ruffled his hair.
“I do.”

One of the other zoo workers opened the gate
around your pool a few minutes after the zoo was emptied. Kurt waited near the
front of the group, waiting with anticipation for you to surface. Your head
came up out of the water, wet hair sticking to your face. You sucked in a
desperate breath of air as your gills disappeared into the skin of your neck.
“Hi there,” you waved. “I’m (Y/N).”
“(Y/N), are you able to get out of the pool
or do you need help?” asked Charles.
“Oh, sorry,” You smiled, hopping up to sit on
the edge of the pool. Your tail slowly split into a pair of legs, leaving
behind a pair of scaly shorts. You stood up shakily, practically falling against
Kurt, and blushing a bright shade of red when he caught you. “Sorry. I’m still
adjusting. Stood up too fast,”
“I’m Kurt,” he stated, smiling. “Kurt Vagner.”
“Nice to meet you, Kurt.” You brushed a piece
of wet hair behind your ear. “Officially that is,”
“Well, um, Raven and Hank and I will be…with
the other kids…but take your time,” Charles said, wanting to give the two of
you space.
“Where are you from?” you asked him, easily
picking out his accent. You saw so many people from so many places during the
day, it wasn’t hard to tell he wasn’t from around here.
“I’m from Germany. I vas raised in zhe
circus.”
“Germany,” you nodded. “Sorry if I was being
too flirty earlier. I just…I think you’re really cute.”
“You do?” he asked, taken aback. You nodded. “I
don’t…scare you?”
“No, not at all,” you laughed. “And I might
be a bit biased, but blue is my favorite color…”
“I’ve…” he paused, blushing deeply and nearly
shaking from nerves. He didn’t really have much experience in flirting. “Vhen I
vas little, my adoptive mohzer used to tell us stories about nixen…mermaids. But I never imagined zhey could
ever be zhis beautiful,”
“You’re trying to score a real kiss on the cheek, aren’t you?” you
laughed softly, smiling at his words.
“Zhat vould be nice…” he rubbed the back of
his neck. You leaned forward and pressed a long, soft kiss to kiss cheek before
grabbing his hand and led him towards Charles and the others.
