Request: So I was thinking that maybe Keith’s s/o really likes dogs and ends up smoothering his new pet instead of giving him attention? Or maybe there’s some awkward tension with since the last time they’ve seen each other they had a heated argument?
Y/N’s mind nowadays seemed to operate on a clock. When she would wake up, when to eat, when to go to bed.
When she would see Keith again.
Y/N was not a fan of Keith joining the Blade of Marmora. Though she knew he was trying to help further Voltron’s progress and seek out his heritage, why would he leave her behind?
She had caught him while he was in his room packing.
“So that’s it? You’re leaving?” Y/N said softly, leaning against the doorframe.
Keith froze, not daring to look at her. “Please, Y/N. Don’t make this harder then it needs to be.”
Y/N walked into the room, the door sliding shut. “I’m sorry that I care about the fact you’re leaving us, Keith. You’re leaving me.”
“I’m not-“ Keith ran a hand down his face. “I have to do this.”
“No you don’t!” Y/N yelled, causing Keith to finally look at her, his eyes narrowing.
“You can’t stop me from leaving, Y/N. You just don’t understand. I’m not like you all, not anymore. I have to do this.”
Y/N gave him a pained smile, scoffing. “What happened to the Keith I fell in love with?”
Keith froze, instantly regretting the words he said.
“He died a long time ago.”
Y/N nodded quickly before turning and walking out of the room, Keith yelling her name.
“I’ll come back to you, Y/N!!”
She froze when she heard Keith’s voice over the intercom. He was back.
But Y/N wasn’t ready. She couldn’t face him yet. So she rewinded her clock and backed out of the room, Hunk calling after her but to no avail.
She rounded the corner when she was jumped on by a creature. Y/N let out a shreik before realizing it was… a dog? A space dog, but a dog nonetheless. Y/N felt a soft smile grace her lips as she kneeled down and rubbed down the happy dog. “Where did you come from…?” She mused quietly.
Y/N heard rapid footsteps, standing and looking up. Her eyes widened, her palms beginning to sweat. Across from her stood him. Keith.
The dog excitedly ran up to him letting out a yap. A female Galran soldier ran up behind Keith, causing Y/N to tense up.
“Y/N…” he breathed out, his voice dying in his throat. The tension in the air was almost suffocating. The Galran woman narrowed her eyes in confusion, looking between Y/N and Keith.
“Keith, who is this?” She asked, rubbing the dogs head.
Keith let out a deep exhale. “Y/N, this is Krolia. She’s uh-she’s my mom. Mom, this is Y/N L/N… my girlfriend.”
Y/N stepped forwards, shaking Krolia’s hand. She gave the Galran a tight smile. “It’s a pleasure to meet you ma’am.”
The woman smiled. “Keith speaks highly of you. I’m glad he’s found found someone like you.”
“Thank you, ma’am.” Y/N nodded, her smile softening a bit.
Krolia turned to Keith. “I’ll take Romelle to the bridge.”
Y/N turned to her boyfriend. “You’re uh-you’re dog’s pretty cute.”
Keith let out a huff. “You see me for the first time in 2 years and you have more attention for the dog than your boyfriend.”
“I mean, Jesus, Keith you know I’m a dog person and where did you even-“
Keith interrupted Y/N by walking towards her and immediately wrapping her in a hug. Despite her mind screaming at her to pull away and walk out, Y/N wrapped her arms around him as well, resting her chin on his shoulder.
“Y/N… fuck, I’m so sorry.” He pulled away, concern etched in his face. “But there’s something I need to do. We’re all in deep shit right now.”

Y/N sat to the side stroking the space wolf as Romelle shared her story, of the mass genocide Lotor had committed.
How could they have been so blind?
Keith kept sneaking small smiles at Y/N to try and console her or calm her. She’d return them but her mind was firing rapidly.
But Y/N didn’t expect that Shiro would turn on them. Y/N ran and hid behind one of the paladin chairs, the wolf in front of her growling. Shiro fought everyone off, his face uncharacteristically monotone and dark. After he punched Allura and retrieved Lotor, Shiro and Y/N made eye contact.
Y/N’s eyes widened at the violet glow in them, the dark and sinister look as he roughly turned away.
She followed the Paladins to their lions as they all prepared to give a fight to Lotor and his lackeys.
Y/N grabbed Keith’s arm before he ran into the black lion, clad in his old paladin armor. When he turned and looked at her, his eyes were full of desperation and fear. But also determination.
“You’re going to go after Shiro, right?” She murmured softly, Keith nodding curtly in response. “Keith, I need you to make me a promise.”
Keith looked up and at Y/N. “Anything.”
Y/N stepped towards him, cupping his face in her hands. “Please come back to me.”
The boy smiled at her softly. “Of course. I promise.”
He gently held her wrists and closed the space between them, his lips connecting with hers.
“I love you.” Y/N breathed out when they pulled away.
Keith smiled, kissing her forehead. “I love you. I’ll come back to you.”
And he left again, but this time Y/N knew Keith would be back.

– He can tell something’s off when you approach him with a little mischief in your stride, but he doesn’t really do anything about it.
– Keith is a very observant lover.

– He’s in Blue’s Hangar just chilling, taking note of any repairs that need done after a recent fight with the Galra.
– Catch him off guard, just do it.
– He’s halfway in, messing with mechanical parts with a very intense look of concentration.
– Despite the way he acts outwardly, Lance’s confidence in piloting stems from his knowledge of the inner parts (he’s smarter than he acts yo)

– Automatically smiles widely, he never gets tired of hearing your voice.

– He wipes his hands off on a rag, peering out to look at you.

– Taken back initially, like especially if they’re random kisses.
– Loves every bit of it.
– Shiro sucks up every bit of love his s/o gives him, he craves the affection even though he may never admit it.
– Is more prone to give them extra kisses.
– Wake him with kisses and you’ll see the best kind of Shiro, the kind that wakes up with a giant smile and stays that way throughout the day.
– At first, I want to say that he’s embarrassed if it’s in front of the paladins, but I think that after a certain amount of time of them doing it and being around the paladins, Shiro’s not so bothered.
– Kiss the scars on his back and he’s giddy.
– Cuddles. A lot more of them.
– His favorite part of getting back from missions is his being with his s/o. He gets more antsy to get back because he wants love.
– After harder battles where Shiro doubts his leadership, his s/o comes in with their love and he feels a little better.
– Sometimes he just wants a long, soft kiss and other days he wants frantic, silly ones all over the face, his s/o gets good at determining what kind of mood Shiro is in.
Keith Kogane
– Blushes like a motherfucker.
– I’d bet that Shiro has been in at least one relationship before, but Keith, nope. He’s probably never been in a relationship before, therefore has like zero experience in love.
– Keith doubts himself a lot, so sometimes you have to deal with him believing that he doesn’t deserve all the love.
– Smother him.
– Embarrassed infront of the Paladins regardless of how long the two of you have in a relationship, these are his comrades and they can’t see him blushing, Keith won’t allow it.
– He blushes every time. Without flaw.
– He loves it but would never mention it. Kisses keep him going like fuel.
– If he spends a few days away from his s/o for whatever reason, he gets touch-starved.
– He’s spent a good portion of his life without a whole lot of love and his dad was never super open, so this is the first time Keith’s really been hugged a lot.
– Keith is the type of person to affirm a hundred times that he isn’t a little spoon, but if you’ve spent the day giving him kisses, he’ll do it for you, but promise not to tell the others.
– Early in the morning, he’ll cuddle into you, without saying anything because it’s his way of asking for kisses without straight up asking.
– After rough battles with Zarkon, all Keith wants is to relax and cuddle with his s/o he wants kisses, he wants a bath.
– Returns kisses in full at night. He won’t do it in front of the paladins but he’ll probably give his s/o a long, soft kiss when they get ready to go to bed.
– He struggles a lot with words and conveying emotion, so this is his way of telling his s/o he loves and appreciates them a lot.
The first few times your in the shop, he doesn’t really comment much on what you buy
He was too shy and tbh he was nervous that if he did say something he’d say something wrong and you might not wanna come back
He notices though that you guys have pretty similar tastes, and in the back of his mind he starts to sort of. Pick out recommendations that he thinks you might like, but never actually tells them to you
One day you come in when the shop is dead, just Keith working and Lance hanging around the store while on break from his own job
Lance essentially goads the poor guy into saying something to you
He kind of blanks though when he actually ends up face to face with you
He’s flustered and doesn’t know what to say so he just sort of points at one of the records that he thinks you’d like
“I, um. I don’t know if you know them, but I think you might… like that album?”
He’s terrified and it is obvious
Lance makes his exit sometime during this interaction and Keith is pretty sure he’s never gonna hear the end of this
You end up really liking what he picked out though, and you ask for some more recommendations
He nearly dies on the spot because he wasn’t ever actually planning on talking to you like this
but he does and he realizes that not only do you have A+ taste, you’re also very charming
As time goes on he talks more and more with you when you come in, to the point where he gets kind of bummed out if you haven’t been in in a while
One time when you come in after not having come by in a few weeks, he impulsively asks for your number
When he realizes what he’s done he freezes and his face is completely red and wowie is he nervous right now what if he’s screwed it all up and—
Then you laugh and pull out your phone and say you’ve been wanting to ask for his
You’ve never seen him look so happy and you decide to make it a point to come by more often
Quickly you chased after Keith. He had just had an argument with the team and had stormed off. You knew full well of his hot headed temper and it had only gotten worse since finding out he was Galra. He felt like everyone beside Shiro looked at him differently and he just had the last straw after a comment Allura made.
Panting, you stood in the doorway to the training room. He was slashing and striking at the gladiator. But he was being sloppy and only seemed to make contact a few times before he was knocked on his ass by the robot. Before he could get up you entered the room, “End training” yelling as the gladiator disappeared.
Keith propped himself up, “What are you doing here? Here to criticize me like everyone else on this godforsaken ship?” His tone being bitter and hurt.
With a small sigh you walked over and kneeled next to him. He looked a bit confused before you pulled him into a hug. His entire demeanor stiffened, eyes widening as you held his body to your own. Soothingly rubbing his back. “Keith, there’s nothing wrong with you. Just because you’re part Galra doesn’t make you any less of the hero you are. What Allura said, it was out of grief and anger for her people. She’ll come to terms, but you have to as well.”
His muscles relaxed as you held him. Hesitantly his arms wrapped around you and his head buried in the crook of your neck. “Why are you so nice to me?” His voice was muffled by your skin and the fabric of your shirt. A small smile pulled at the corner of your lips. “Because I care about you Keith.”
He pulled away from you, a stunned look on his features. His heart pounded in his chest as he stared at you, not coming back to reality until he heard you giggle softly. “What?” You grinned, “You’re blushing.”
Keith quickly looked away, feeling heat build in his face even more. Carefully you took his chin in your hand and made him face you again. Slowly inching toward him, your lips close to his. “Can I?” You whispered. He gulped before closing the distance. The kiss was short and a bit clumsy, but nonetheless feeling wonderful.
Well, it felt wonderful until the other paladins caught you both. They all stared a bit shocked until Lance bust out laughing, “I DIDN’T THINK HE HAD IT IN HIM!” His laugh accenting the words.
Keith groaned and rolled his eyes before looking at you. “I’m too sober for this.”
Shaking your head, you shoved him lightly. “You’re not even old enough to drink dummy.” Chuckling before standing up and pulling him up to. Everyone seemed to be happy for you both, despite Lance’s boisterous laughing. Which actually proved to be contagious and led to the once hostile aura to completely disappear. Especially when Keith’s fingers securely laced with yours.
