Noctis. Notices that he’s a little chubbier lately but doesn’t feel like it’s a big deal at first. It starts getting to him when his “official business” clothes need to be restitched because they don’t seem to fit as well anymore. He doesn’t talk about it as such with his s/o, but they do notice how cranky he seems when the subject of going to the tailor comes up. They offer to join him if he feels it’s a drag. But he very frantically discourages them. That convinces them that something isn’t right with him. He can tell they’re suspicious and reluctantly opens up to them about what’s been on his mind. They’re shocked and tell him he has nothing to worry about because putting on weight doesn’t change who he is and how much he means to them. For the rest of the day they cling to him and reassure him at every chance they get. Noctis appreciates it even though he doesn’t immediately get convinced.
Prompto. Is the most stressed out about it. He associates weight gain with a very difficult part of his life and he’s scared gaining some weight is some kind of sign that he’s going to lose control of his life and end up just as miserable as he used to be. His s/o catches him looking at his body in the mirror and is able to connect the dots, seeing how focused he is on his stomach and thighs. He feels very embarrassed that they caught him and tries to downplay the situation, hoping that they’re willing to drop the subject.They just proceed to hug him and tell him how much more handsome he’s been looking lately. Because if he won’t talk about it, they’ll just validate him anyway. He’s pretty taken aback, and realises that they’re at least a little aware of what he was just doing. He gives in after that and they soothe him, telling him that he’s overthinking things. That he is and always will be perfect. He appreciates it. A lot.
Ignis. Doesn’t beat about the bush and just plainly asks his s/o if he’s gained some weight. He feels a little disheartened when they say that, yes. He in fact has. Being the person he is, he starts dieting and keeping track of how many calories he’s consuming a day. When his s/o notices that his diet is a tad too exacting, they confront him. He doesn’t think he’s going overboard so he admits to the fact that he’s dieting and what said diet requires of him. They feel a little annoyed with him and proceed to go into an extremely long lecture about how he’s being over the top. He interrupts them and points out that they had told him that he’s put on some pounds. They tell him that, just because they said that he has, doesn’t mean he should treat it as something that obsessively needs to be fixed. They proceed to calm down and tell him how they’re worried that he isn’t taking care of himself. He assures them that he is. They say that if he was, he’d see that he’s still as attractive as ever. He starts rethinking his stance after that.
Gladiolus. Is at a bit of a crossroads. On the one hand, he needs to stay in peak physical shape as part of his role as the King’s Shield plus, he’s already pretty uncomfortable with his size. On the other, he knows it’s not a very big deal and he’ll be back in shape soon enough because that’s just part of his demanding schedule. Plus he knows the people around him won’t think any less of him for it. As time goes on, his issues with his size kind of begin eating away at him. He decides to confide in his s/o. They let him vent and understand where he’s coming from. Though, they feel the need to remind him that he’s still a sight for sore eyes. He thinks they’re funny, but goes on to tell them that, he feels most comfortable with himself when he’s in shape. Both of them go back and forth a bit, with him saying that he wants to go back to exercising more and them saying that he doesn’t need to. He can be pretty stubborn so he gets them to give in, and he really gloats about it. They’re a little scowl-y but they let him do what he thinks is best, so long as it makes him happy.
Please hold his hand. He lives for hand holding. He especially likes to link pinkies, he thinks that’s the cutest shit in the world. He does it with his friends and with his s/o
He also likes sitting on peoples’ laps, and having them sit on his too. The only person who won’t sit on Prompto’s lap is Gladio, because Gladio knows he might kill him
Sometimes his fingers get cold and he slides his hands up the back of your shirt like a heathen
He also rubs his cold feet on you at night. Sometimes it scares you awake
Zack
He loves to give piggy-back rides. That’s his shit. He’s strong, he has stamina, let him take you for a ride! (He’s actually said that, and it took him a minute to understand why you started laughing)
He also likes throwing his arms over people’s shoulders. Sometimes it’s just hanging out and being sweet, but if he’s feeling playful it turns into a headlock
Sharing food is one of the best ways to show love in his eyes. He always offers the people he cares about a taste of his food before he starts to eat
Noctis
Lays across his s/o like a cat when he wants to cuddle. Sometimes his friends fall victim to this too, but you’re his favorite person to lay on
He also holds peoples’ sleeves, and the hems of their shirts a lot. It’s the cutest thing in the world to see
He sits on laps too. He only weighs like eight pounds, it doesn’t even matter, but he enjoys it
Noctis will randomly nuzzle his face into your neck or back
Gladio
A big fan of casual touches. An arm tossed around your shoulders, a hand on the small of your back. Maybe it’s because he’s naturally protective, but being around a cuddly Gladio can make you feel really safe
Like Zack, he puts his friends in headlocks. Sometimes he can fall asleep like that. Unlike Zack, you’re spared from this
He enjoys being laid on. It’s like having a weighted blanket, but it’s somebody he cares about instead of an inanimate object
Aranea
An affectionate sleeper. You might fall asleep on different ends of the bed, but you always wake up with Aranea wrapped around you like an extra blanket
If you have boobs, Aranea likes to hold them. It’s not even sexual, she just likes the weight and the warmth of them in her hands. Yes, she does this in public
She also likes to give piggy-back rides, but it’s more a show of power than an affectionate thing. She wants her enemies to know that she’s strong and she could crush them if she wanted to
