#2!!! I did it, I got inspired, yay! Also, I’m so happy you like my tokoyami stuff, I always feel like I mess him up so badly when I write for him, so I’m glad you like it. These are a bit short, yet I had fun writing for characters I’m not used to. Also, Shoji and Koda are super underrated and it makes me so mad, they deserve more love.
(Here you go! I hope you like it. I haven’t really delved into Tokoyami’s personality much so he might be out of character. I’m sorry)
-Tokoyami and you had been dating for a little over five months. You had met his parents and two baby sisters. Yet he had never met your family.
-He knew your parents were out of the picture and he wasn’t one to pry. He knew you had an older brother that took care of you and loved you. But you rarely mentioned him.
-He should’ve guessed from the similarity in your quirks. Large wings, feather like telekenisis. But he hadn’t.
-Not until Hawks showed up at his doorstep to pick you up one night. He almost had a heart attack. The number 3 ranked hero was standing at his front door, and asking for you no less.
-“Hawks, i told you i could fly home myself!” You pout. Small fluffy dark purple wings slouching against your shoulders. The hero merely offers his signature smirk.
-“Awh, come on Y/n. I just wanted to meet your boyfriend!”
-Despite the heroes cheerful exterior his aura was anything but pleasent. Hawks seemed to be almost hostile towards Tokoyami.
-Which is how he wound up sitting on the opposite couch from the hero. You were sitting beside him, holding his hand for reassurance. Your brother could be a bit…intimidating when he wanted to be. His big brother mode kicking in at the worst times.
“So, you guys been dating for long?” Hawks questioned leaning back against the couch. His wings hanging over the bakc similair to yours. However your dark purple feathers were ruffled. One wing slightly flared behind Tokoyami protectively.
“Only five months.” Tokokaymi was trying to keep his responses curt, short, and respectful. He didn’t want your older brother to get the wrong impression of him.
“And y/n was willing to stick with you for that long, huh? She usually skips out at three months,” Hawks snorted. Your jaw went slack at your brothers accusation. That wasn’t true! That wasn’t true at all! You never got a chance to voice your dissaproval though. Tokoyami had beaten you to it.
“That’s incredibly disrespectful of Y/n. I doubt she would be so shallow.”
You saw a flicker of amusement in Hawks eyes and realized what he was doing. He was trying to test weither Tokoyami would actually stand up for you. You dissaproved of your brothers tactics. This was stupid and even down right cruel!
“Not if it’s truthful. Are you really going to stick by her? She’s pretty flighty when it comes to commitment.” Another attack on your reputation. You gritted your teeth. Your grasp tightening on Tokoyami’s hand. However the bird quirk boy took it as a sign of discomfort than anger. While Tokoyami prided himself on his level head and cool temper he wasn’t about to stand by when you were being called into question. You were his girlfriend. His other half. If someone was attacking you, even only verbally, he wouldn’t hesitate to be your shield. He stood up abruptly. Catching your brother off guard in the moment. Dark shadow hung behind him, glaring down the winged hero.
“If you’re only going to tear Y/n down i’m going to have to ask you to leave my home. I will not tolerate the way you speak about her. I do not care if you are a well respected hero. You will apologize to your sister!” He demanded harshly. Hawks eyebrows rose as his lips drew into a thin line. He was impressed to say the least. Tokoyami hadn’t hesitated or let him continue on with his lies about you. He had stood up after only a few seconds. Few boys had ever dared to speak up. Yet this one had defended you straight off the bat. Hawks broke into a grin, clapping to signify his defeat. Tokoyami’s brow furrowed in confusion at the man’s actions.
“I like him! He’s willing to fight for you. You did great, kid! Passed the test with flying colors.”
“Hawks, you’re such a jerk!” You snapped, crossing your arms over your chest in fury. Your brother could be such a moron!
“Test?” Tokoyami muttered under his breath glancing back at you. Your cheeks were flush with embarassment. You couldn’t meet his gaze. Would he hate you after what Hawks did? It was a dumb way to test Tokoyami’s loyalty to you. It was hurtful to you as well.
“Yeah, i was seeing if you’d be willing to protect Y/n. I can’t always be around to protect my baby sister. I needed to know she has someone who can watch her back. You know, like a hero,” Hawks chuckled ruffling your hair. You swatted at his hand. Still angry about the whole situation. Realization dawned as Tokoyami gazed at the two of you. Hawks had set him up. All to see if he had the guts to try and take on a pro-hero. It was rather illogical, but it did make sense somewhere along the lines. Dark shadow relaxed as he moved to his smaller form. Hovering close to you and still keeping an eye on hawks.
“I see, it was a test.”
“Yep! And you passed. But just because you did, don’t think i’m willing to let you get away with anything. Especially if i come home to find you two-“
“HAWKS!” You shouted smacking him square in the face with your wing. Tokoyami couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at his beak as he watched the two of you. It was evident that Hawks cared about you. In his own demented way. And you seemed to care just as much. Maybe the two of your families could get along.
“I’m just saying! I understand you’re both young and sometimes hormones kick in,” Hawks continued.

Tokoyami always had been conscious if his lack of control he could have on his quirk. When night came he had to keep a little light to be sure Dark Shadow wouldn’t overwhelmed him. He trained hard to stay in control but it wasn’t concluding yet.
And he had loose control. You were with him, sleeping peacefully when he lost control over Dark Shadow. Thanks to your quick reaction and your quirk you weren’t hurt badly, but you were still hurt. And it was something that was unbearable to Tokoyami. He had hurt the person he loved the most.
“Hey.” You called him softly through the door. “It wasn’t your fault.”
No answer. It had been two long hours since he had locked himself in the boy bathroom and you were almost decided to go wake Bakugou up and force him to explode this stupid door. But your instinct of preservation stopped you to wake up the boy in the middle of the night.
“I don’t deserve you. You should leave.”
You didn’t know if you wanted more to hit him for saying dumb things or if you wanted to cry.
“I’m dangerous.”
“Come on Edge lord, it’s just a bruise.”
You heard muffled noise, probably Tokoyami and Dark Shadow talking. You knew Dark Shadow would feel just as responsible as your boyfriend but you weren’t in the mood for long and deep conversation, you just wanted to go back to sleep.
“I’m not leaving you. I’m going to sleep in front of this door.” You menaced him. “In the cold.”
You didn’t need to tell more. In a second Tokoyami was out, ready to wrap you up in a blanket if he had had one with him.
“Let’s go back to bed for tonight.” You said softly, taking his hand. “We’ll talk about this tomorrow, and I’ll explain to you why you deserve me and how amazing you are. Okay ?”
He nodded and followed you to his room.
“Don’t call me Edge lord, anymore.”
“Alright, Dark Prince.”

The morning after, a Sunday, you both decided to stay in bed and called sick for the morning training you always had with everyone. You didn’t want to support Denki and Kirishima and their enthusiasm so early in the morning. And you had a long conversation to have.

He’s kind of awkward at first when it comes to your physical affection but he learns that the reason he’s uncomfortable is because he hasn’t experienced it properly before, so he has to get used to it. Once he does though, he’s the sweetest and he’s always shyly slipping his hand into yours or quietly moving closer to you during movies.
Do you have any idea how great this guy is at cuddling? (Six arms I mean HELLO people-) Rainy days are the best with him. You don’t even have to say anything and he’ll pull you onto his chest, cocooning you in warmth.
He doesn’t know how to express his jealousy without thinking it’s rude, so you know now that if he gets subtly protective and needy after you interacting with someone in a borderline flirtatious way (or vice-versa) then he’s jealous. Usually he’ll do small things like squeeze your hand or put his chin on your shoulder like a needy puppy.
He’s so gentle and kind when it comes to your stress or insecurities. If you’re worried about an assignment, he’ll make sure to make you fully comfortable in the environment that you’re working in and help out whenever he can. (Expect a never-ending supply of your favourite snacks and drinks.) If you’re worried about your body or appearance, he’ll remind you that the media’s ideals are not his ideals, that those are generic and he loves you for who you are as a whole.
One of his favourite foods is Takoyaki and you’ve found yourself questioning him about whether or not he’s technically being cannibalistic. He never answers this directly and has resorted to the answer “you are what you eat” as his default. It’s so ominous but you both laugh it off each time.
He’s such a great boyfriend and he’s always there to support you through everything you do, no matter how he feels.
Fumikage Tokoyami:

Is the most possessive boyfriend on the face of this planet the minute anyone else so much as glances at you – Also Tokoyami.
He loves it when you borrow his clothes. He practically has a section of his wardrobe dedicated to the stuff he knows you like using. 90% of said section consists of black hoodies and the other 10% consists of band tees.
He likes taking you on personal dates, usually at night. Never anything clichéd. His personal favourite was a candle-lit picnic that he took you on when you started dating. He’s always sure to steer clear of anything that shows off the fact that you’re an item because he finds showing off to be trashy, so his dates are usually in secluded places.
Dark Shadow is lowkey the third wheel in his eyes but to you he’s the second sweetest thing you could ask for. Sometimes you’ll make Tokoyami face in the opposite direction to you while you ask Dark Shadow which outfit you should pick for your date.
Since it’s kind of difficult to kiss him properly, you’ll make him feel better by kissing his hand or the feathers on his forehead and he gets all flushed and embarrassed.
He loves training with you, quirkless or not. You give him a motivation that nobody else can and if you get him tired enough, you guys will relax in his room with his or your favourite music on softly in the background. You probably have a mixed playlist together that you play whenever you’re apart and feeling lonely or spending time together and just wanting to chill.
He’s the kind of guy to seem aloof but make sure that you’re always comfortable and happy in the relationship you two share. This enables you both to have an unbreakable bond of trust and you soon become one of the most admirable power couples in UA.
